No, I am not contradicting myself at all. Saying that the vast majority of people don't like what he is doing is one thing.

Saying he has committed war crimes or done things unconstitutionally is quite another and if that were the case then the Democrats would have been able to make a case by now.

I think I am intelligent enough to be able to say I don't like what is happening yet I don't know how they just "get out of it."

So what plan do any of you libs have for fighting the War on Terror. You'd rather surrender and have gay marriage take over.

Sorry just preparing everyone for the inevitable

All I can say is look at the people who gave this nightmare a second term in office.
Talk about America being dumbed down!

Even as a conservative I don't agree with DAR's retort.

And pecos bill makes a telling statement. As poorly as Bush was perceived he still managed to do better than the best that the Democrats could come up with last time around. Wait until we see what happens this time around with McCain and Obama/Clinton.

I'm absolutely dreading going to the polls in November. I'm quite sure I'm not going to be comfortable with my selection no matter who that turns out to be. What does that say about politics today?

But seriously is he a bad President, sure. Is he the worst ever? I'm not sure I was a little kid when Carter was in office. And I'm sure none of us were alive during the Coolidge or Hoover administrations. Don't get me wrong he'll rank towards the bottom on many lists.

>>President Bush has been the best President of the 21st Century....Hands down....<<

LOL! Good point!

I'm actually glad to be going to the polls this November for the first time in a long time. I truly believe that any of the three finalists will do a far better job than this miserable administration. I don't feel like I'll be choosing between the lesser of two evils for once.

"Saying he has committed war crimes or done things unconstitutionally is quite another and if that were the case then the Democrats would have been able to make a case by now."

There has been a much better case for impeachment this time around given the Constitutional violations and war crimes, but I'd suggest the country and Congress just didn't have the stomach for it after the circus that was the Clinton impeachment. The fervor by which vindictive Republicans went after him when a censure would have been more than sufficient, coupled with the fact we were attacked on our own soil, gave Bush all the leeway he needed to trample all over 200 plus years of progress. Impeaching a president at war would practicaly require Bush personally bribing people to vote for the war, or some similar act.

Sorry, WilliamK99, i misread you joke. Lol. I feel like an idiot. Especially since I had just made the "best since Clinton" joke.

>>Is he the worst ever?<<

Considering how high his approval ratings were after 9/11, and how much international goodwill he had to work with following that event, only to squander it all over the last 7 years, he surely must be in the running for worst ever from a historical standpoint.

If the economy is able to start turning around before he leaves office, or if Iraq could start winding down by then, perhaps his legacy might be a bit better from a historical perspective.
