***I never said he was a hero, I'm just not going to lose any sleep over it.***

You damned well SHOULD.

You're an AMERICAN, aren't you?

You see the leader of the country committing crimes, and "you're just not going to lose sleep over it"????

Well that just makes you about as useful as Benedict Arnold was...do you realize that?

You should be ashamed of yourself!

***truthfully he's had nothing to do with it***

You're an idiot to believe your own rhetoric. He had everything to do with it. Why? Because he didn't put a stop to it when he had the opportunity. He let us down then, and he's letting us down now.

He screwed the country over bigtime, and not only THAT, he has singlehandedly caused the entire world to hate us.

Nice legacy, eh?

***It's been the soldiers out in the field who performed impeccably and with pride and honor to their country.***

I challenge you to find a single word to the contrary on LP or anyplace else.

You're not "special" in your heartfelt support, pal. Everyone else feels the same way.

Is there any point in saying that the difference between someone still supporting this president and someone who supported Hitler is so vast as to be ridiculous?

You know, one of the things that most bothered me about this administration was its habit of labeling people that disagreed with its policies as unAmerican, un patriotic, etc.

But my goodness, do we know start doing the very same thing to people who support this administration? How is that any better?

I dislike what this administration has done to our country. I think they've been a disaster in just about every area. But if we've come to the point where were flinging around the term Nazi so loosely, we're essentially calling Bush supporters unAmerican. It's no better than when it happens the other way around.

And DAR is no Nazi. My goodness.

Kar2oonMan thank you for saying that you have always shown that you can still disagree but be reasonable and I appreciate that.

***And DAR is no Nazi. My goodness.***

Gotta say though, I've never encountered another soul in my travels that was in favor of torture so vehemently that he skips the usual rhetoric and moves right on to "for punishment...because they damn well deserve it!".

I think I'm paraphrasing Dar fairly, if I'm not Dar is welcomed to correct my assumption here.

Anyway...THAT, at least, is pretty Nazi right there.

As for you X you would never say any of this crap to me if we were face to face. So as far as I'm concerned you don't exist on these boards.

Mmmm, Eggs Benedict.

But speaking of the nazi supportes, they were for the most part good people with a strong national pride and a trust in their leaders. It wasn't until late in Hitler's reign that his true intentions became clear. And most Germans turned against him, yet there were some who thought that Hitler was noble, misunderstood, and wrongly accused.
Most Bush supporters think he mission is noble, his intentions misunderstood, and that his critics are peppering him with false allegations of War Crimes. Mainly because they refuse to accept that waterboarding is torture. Even though the U.S. convicted japanese military leaders for authorizing the waterboarding of U.S. Troops in WWII.

From CBS News:

"Republican presidential candidate John McCain reminded people Thursday that some Japanese were tried and hanged for torturing American prisoners during World War II with techniques that included waterboarding.

"There should be little doubt from American history that we consider that as torture otherwise we wouldn't have tried and convicted Japanese for doing that same thing to Americans," McCain said during a news conference."

You're wrong on that count.

Believe me, I'd love to meet you and sit down and talk...I think just maybe I could help you down from that ledge you're standing on.

As far as "I don't exist on these boards", I will exist as long as the management allows me to; and as long as I'm here I will continue to unflinchingly speak out against the dangers of right wingers such as yourself advocating war without end along with torture and the elimination of the most basic of human rights.

Until I'm silenced, you can bet on the fact that I will reply to your vitriol every chance I get.

And calling me a "prick" won't change THAT fact, Dar.
