ORDDU: A Little Mermaid attraction--like the one being planned for DCA--is rumored to being considered for Hong Kong Disneyland's Fantasyland. But, of course, it will all depend on how soon the Hong Kong Government gets off pot--as my little sister has already said.

And what ever happened to the rumors that HKDL would be getting the Electrical Parade from Paris? Will that ever happen (even taking the one from DCA)?

No one seems to know where the Paris Electrical Parade has gone too. But surely if it was to go to Hong Kong it would already be in Hong Kong performing each night by now. I gather its probarely been dismantled by now or is gathering dust in some building backstage. But I do think HKDL could do with a night time parade, and possibly a new daytime parade too. 2010 will be the parks 5th Anniversary so I expect to see some big events planned for this time.

2010 is a long time to wait. as I wrote on another post somewhere, they are doing something small in Adventure land. Mickey's house is gone and there is a sign telling us there is something planned.
The electric parade woulod be amazing. I wish they would get off the stick and bring it out.

Another dark ride would be great as well. There seems to be room just off the left side of Pooh in the castle. I know Disney portrays Mulan as a princess, but IMHO, a ride dedicated to her would be better in Adventure land. I could see a great ride based on the huns slide down that snowy mountain! or Mulan's slide down the lanterns at the castle. But I dream too much don't I?

2010 sounds like a long time but it does take time to design and build this stuff, so two years really isn't that long. But the park for all I know may have zero plans to add anything new or even celebrate its Anniversary. Althrough I expect it will do, as Disney seems to be quite high on Anniversary's lately.

Oh no Mickey's House has closed, thats a shame. The detailed sets looked rather good and I was hoping to check it out. I guess the park is now in preparation for the Summer Months and doing all it can to attract a record crowd.

Didn't they discover shortly after opening the park that the locals didn't really like Mulan? I know that I've only seen pictures (and in person once) that the area designed for her in Fantasy Gardens now is home to Chip and Dale in Chinese vests. They look a little out of place when the other places are so clearly designed for their respective owners, so I don't see why else Mulan wouldn't be out gretting guests each day.

she often shows up at the park inn, and usually wanders around the fantasy gardens. I see her quite often.
When he comes out, the line for Stitch pictures is incredibly long. Woody always pulls a crowd too. During the earth day events, pinnochio was out but I don't think people really knew who he is. His queue was short as well. Marie! I think many of hte tourists coming across the border have her mixed up with a Japanese cat of hte same color. You can hear kids shouting "Hello Kitty"! Mickey and Minnie always pull in picture takers as do any of the main characters when they wear different clothes.

Interesting, I had always been under the impression Mulan was a rather popular character in Hong Kong. As I have seen many pictures of her and Mushu in the past greeting guest at the park. Also is the Plazza Restuarant not heavily themed around the Mulan. I remember seeing the artwork in the murals for this Restuarant and noticing the artwork looking similar.

Both characters have a rather large fanbase in Tokyo too, no doubt you can find a lot of merchadise on both characters in the park.
