51	TINK-MOBILE Sun 5/4/2008 8:36a	A young man lost his life at a place where we all love to be...I was sent a very sad emotional email this morning titled " Who I am does make a Difference" I just wish that this young man may have had the same opportunity as you do know to view this hearetfelt unselfish message about a school teacher from New York who was given a message of hope to share with all of us not knowing the just how meaningful this message was to become in the lives of some one that she didn't even know, I do not know how to post these messages , if some one who does know would email me at my email address christmas-wishes@hotmail.com...i will send it to you right away, this message could be so precious to some one else who is hurting so much inside that they may not even feel the hurt and brokeness that shall result from taking their life...We all can make a difference in any ones life...you two who have taken up so much time to batter each other, it does not matter who is right, it matters that you be friends with one another, it must hurt others who think alot of both of you to hear you speak so harshly of one another, now enough said...a life has been lost.. start over...be kind...when you unwind.. the tonque is the weakest organ in the body, once you say something you can't erase it, the only thing that does is Forgiveness, forgive each other, for good friends light candles when ever their around old friends keep them burning they'll never let you down..take care and if ethier one of you would like to email me i will send this message that needs to heard on this site out right away to you...thanks and be happy we all are just a heart beat away... hugs from the tink-mobile and snowhite ox

Just a few days ago-on another topic-mawnck posted: "Discussion board. We discuss. Everyone IS allowed their opinion, even if it disagrees with the OP's. Don't take it personal." I agree. Road Trip you offered nothing in this topic except to bash someone else. I agree with DG-keep it in World Events where it belongs.
53	mele Sun 5/4/2008 9:54a	Considering the fact that RT just posted to defend someone, it looks like you, WW and DG, are guilty of the exact same thing you're jumping over RT for. Follow your own advice. (And saying "hell" isn't a curse word unless you're in kindergarten.)
54	pecos bill Sun 5/4/2008 10:07a	I dont care what anyone says, the guy should not have done it where he did. It almost shows a contempt for those who would surely see it happen. Can you imagine what seeing that would do to a young child, let alone an adult? How would you feel if your five year old saw that happen? I daresay your sympathy for this fellow may be somewhat diminished. The Golden Gate Bridge is one thing, the Disneyland Hotel is quite another. P.S. If you cant say something nice, dont say nothing at all!

And no, he posted a nasty jab at someone-which is the same someone he always pokes jabs at. I have seen him do it other times as well. so ya-that thinking that he was "defending" someone-doesn't work. Trollish behavior at it's best-huh-exactly the behavior he accused someone else of doing just last week.
56	danyoung Sun 5/4/2008 10:10a	I think a lot of assumptions have been made on this thread. Everyone assumes that this man's suicide was an act of desperation. It might have been, or it might have been a carefully thought out response to a terminal illness. We Americans have a very reserved attitude to the thought of the planned ending of one's life. I do think it's somewhat selfish for him to die in such a public way and at such a special place, potentially traumatizing those who witnessed the deed. But other than that, I simply can't dredge up much compassion for him. Tragedy is when a child gets hit by a car. But if someone's life is so horrible that he wishes to check out, I have a hard time feeling any emotion over it.

A guy who is so despondent, so mentally unstable, so incredibly in the depths of depression, that he's ready to jump from a hotel balcony, should stop and consider someone's child???? And the impact it might have on said child? Is that what I'm understanding?
59	mele Sun 5/4/2008 10:25a	If you think "hell" is such a bad word, then report it to the moderator and if they think it's bad, they'll remove it. Hell as a adjective isn't swearing. Telling someone to go to Hell would be. RT and dl have a history of not getting along. It's not a "troll" situation. I believe dl set the nasty tone by reacting to what X said about her anger. RT also posts on LP constantly where as you hardly post at all and yet come here and insert yourself into this thread. THAT fits the definition of internet troll far more than what you're accusing RT of. dan, I don't think we're making any outrageous assumptions about this man. I think it's pretty safe to say that he was feeling pretty low when he jumped out the window. I guess he could have been high or something else. People were just trying to say that it's possible that the person was feeling a lot of mental anguish, what ANY person may be feeling when they commit suicide. If dl hadn't drawn a line in the sand saying this person was just selfish and none of us could understand the situation, the tone of this thread might have stayed more civil and on-topic. I find it odd that you would brag about not feeling any emotion for a person who could be in pain. That's not something I would share but, hey, different strokes.
60	mele Sun 5/4/2008 10:28a	Yes, I'd be upset if my child saw such a thing but I'd use the moment to instill more compassion for those with mental health issues. It's the same with any bad thing that my child might see. I'm not going to sit there and hate the dead man. Talk about an exercise in futility!
