Am I correct in saying that the Canada film theme music "Canada (You're A Lifetime Journey)" was written especially for Epcot? (I also seem to remember that it was written by someone who wrote the theme song for another Epcot pavilion?)

Thanks.

It was written specifically for the pavilion - the composer Bob Moline also worked with Randy Bright on Golden Dream for The American Adventure. Randy also wrote the original Epcot hardcover (he was a WDI show writer that Marty championed). Randy also co-wrote the show script for the American Adventure. Sadly Randy was killed by a car whilst cycling in the early '90s.

If I recall correctly Bob also wrote the music for Dreamflight at Magic Kingdom.

Bob's other Epcot work included Listen To The Land and Energy (for Universe of Energy).

^^ LOL! I barely have enough time for my day job and the magazine - I think a book would put me in an early grave! :-)

lee, did Randy Bright and Bob Moline also write the music for Horizons? I know that the Sherman Brothers originally wrote a theme and song for the attraction that wasn't used. But, I believe I remember reading somewhere that "New Horizons" was written by them, but inadvertantly credit to the Sherman Brothers. Can you fill me in who's right? Thanks!

ORDDU: The 'Oh Canada' theme song at Epcot certainly is a beautiful creation. While the current singer does a fine job of delivering it, the original duet will always remain our favorite in Morva. Wasn't Christopher Cross the male singer for the original version?

Reach for New Horizons was by the Sherman Brothers and never used (definitely not one of their best). New Horizons was a George Wilkins and John Debney song.

I don't believe C. Cross sang the earlier version. Did sound a bit like him, though.
