Would we still be able to use Disney's Magical Express service to take us to and from the airport even if we didn't book a disney hotel through disneyworld.com? I found a cheap offer for one of the disney all star resorts on expedia.com, but wasn't sure if we'd still get to use the magical express service... anyone know?

Do all airlines recognize ME? I was told Southwest doesn't, that's how we're flying this time.

I believe you are correct, Southwest is not a participating airline. However, you can still use Magical Express. Your luggage will still be handled for you when you arrive and dropped off at your hotel. The only difference is you won't be able to check your luggage for the return trip at your hotel. Instead, it'll travel on the bus with you and you'll need to check it at the airport like normal.

Thank-you Doobie, I am using southwest next month for my DW trip and did not know the part about the luggage. I'm glad to know ahead of time.

Thanks Doobie, I thought that's what I'd heard here way back. I wonder why Southwest has to be different.

It's possible Southwest is now participating in the resort check-in process. But from what I was able to find out just now checking around, Southwest is not one of the airlines.

I traveled SW in January. You can check your baggage at your departing airport and use the ME. You just cannot do your check ins at your resort when you leave WDW. As for boarding passes. I was able to have a CM get my boarding passes 24 hours before we left. They were very helpful as I arrived at the CM counter 5 minutes before my window for Boarding passes opened. The CM went in the back room to wait on the computer for my time to open. We got boarding passes that let us on the plane first!

Thanks FenwayGirl, that's very good to know, as we get closer to panic time. So ME will get our luggage in Orlando? I'd heard we had to pick it up and take it to the bus.

ME will pick up your baggage in Orlando as long as you have the yellow tags on them. We arrived at WDW around 10:30 and had our luggage at 11. We did have to check in our luggage at MCO on the way home. I guess SW is in talks for a check in on WDW property, but not approved yet. Too bad. We flew SW for the first time in January and we were very pleased! Can't believe that it is time for your trip already. Have a great time...and be sure to update us with a report when you return.
