| DisneyAce Sun 5/4/2008 8:20p | According to Bluesky Disney and LA Times, the California State Gov. is looking to impose a 'Theme Park Tax':
<<How much could this affect the price of admission?
A one day Ticket to one park at the Disneyland Resort would go from $66 to more than $70 dollars, a ParkHopper ticket would go from $91 to almost a 100 dollars and a Premium Annual Pass would increase from $379 to well over $400.>>
This on top of already high ticket prices and gas prices. Is it any wonder politicians are given such a bad reputation.
Your thoughts? Is this something that should be done or should recall these so-called 'leaders' for their poor fiscal management?

Personally I don't see how they will be able to plug that gap with taxes alone. Expect the middle class flight from California to intensify as Sacramento keeps clobbering them with new taxes and reduced services. |

As someone who was BORN in California, I keep that fact to myself as the stigma of being lumped in with the dimwits on the left-coast never ceases to amaze me.
Hmmm....Let's see now, the left-wackos and cowards in Sacramento have driven away a majority of the corporations and businesses due to its draconian taxing and insane regulation. Now, let's go after the tourist industry !!!!
Someone needs to hit the "flush" lever in California. |

If they do have one, this sounds like it will just be a huge increase in what they have. Personally, I don't think I would be too upset if they cost $1 more per ticket, but $5-10 seems a little extreme. I really wouldn't be surprised if this really hurts the theme park industry if it gets passed. Like so many things in life, gradual increases are pretty universally accepted, but large jumps like this really just don't seem to be the best option. |
