>> Wait. You haven't ridden it yet? And you're providing your opinion?

How dare you. :) <<

I figured what the heck, everybody else does it, so I just jumped in. :-)

I dont think the vid does it justice either. While riding, the cars are going to be turning ways that detract your attention from the other screens, and focus you on your next screen. And 4-D shows never look good on vid anyway.

Still, I can see where the sound interference might come in...

I hope it's a big hit. While mom and dad and Junior are playing Kroger: the Video Game, I can get in more rides of a TRUE masterpiece: TOT!

After watching the video, it just doesn't excite me. I'm just not into video games and the theming, especially INSIDE the ride looks minimal, at best. And I have to agree, it looks like a supermarket the way that it's laid out. I'm sure it will be a huge hit among the kids, but, personally, I don't think this will be as big of a hit as Disney is hoping for. Winnie the Pooh seems more immersive than this!

^^A phonebooth is more immersive than this.

But I realize this is a 3-D phonebooth. So very special!

Whether Disney likes it or not, this is going to put up against The Simpsons Ride, and I have only seen the BAD YouTube video of each, But I am afraid Bart and Co. are gonna win this round.
So what is next for WDW? IDOL and Storm house? But isn't there something big in the pipes for next summer to compete with Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit? And Harry Potter in the late fall?

Don't forget Manta at Sea World, too!

Not only that, but both Sea World and Universal have new onsite hotels coming to their resorts. Sea World has 2 Marriot prop hotels to be between Aquatica and Discovery Cove. With manta coming and Jungula down the road, Busch Ent. is on the move. You get that feeling from the Worlds of Discovery logo and ad campaign.
Universal just started offering Jurassic Park kid suites. And Universal has an 1,800 room 16 story hotel already under construction. The rumor mill says it will contain Harry Potter Kid Suites with wand activated stuff. More about the wand game later. And notice what appears to be a lazy river around the pool.

And Hollywood, Rip, Ride Rockit. Harry Potter with its "Project Strongarm" which will be spectacular, and what I believe will be the sleeper hit of WWoHP is the wand waving scavenger hunt based on the MagiQuest tech. My kids have played this game twice, once at the original location in Myrtle Beach and again at The Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. They couldn't get enough and absolutely ran themselves ragged. They will run themselves up and down the stars in the Hogwarts Castle until they puke.
All that said, it appears to me that Disney has been caught resting on its laurals. And it also doesn't seem as if WDI is at the top of their game right now. But there is a lot going on in Orlando and its not at Disney. Has Harry Potter knocked the wind out of the mouse already? I'm gonna puke if Disney's counterpunch is "Disney's Character Kingdom ®" Featuring Disney's Walt Disney World ®'s latest Mountain, "Disney's Mt. Olympus ®". Join Pegusus ® from Walt Disney Studios, "Disney's Herules ®" and the loveable yet ever curious Stitch ® from Walt Disney Studios, "Disney's Lilo and Stitch ®" on an "magical ®" flight to the top of "Disney's Mt. Olympus ®" to retrive the "Disneyland ®'s 50th Anniversary Golden Mouse Ears ®" to save "Disney's Princesses ®" and "Disney's Pixies ®" that have been kidnapped by "Disney's Pirates of the Carribean ®". So join us at Disney's Walt Disney World ®'s Disney's Animal Kingdom ® to see the all new "Disney's Character Kingdom ®" and experience "Disney's Mt. Olympus ®" with Stitch ®. It's "Magical ®"
