My only concern is that it means the later movies won't make sense to a viewer who hasn't seen the earlier ones. That's a good way to kill a franchise.<<

But Marvel is doing it in a way where the average fan doesn't know they are missing anything. Take the bonus scene from Iron Man for instance, fanboys know what I am talking about and it pushes the Avengers movie forward. The average movie goer probably didn't even wait to see the scene.

Plus with the way DVD's are released these days, I don't think Marvel has to worry about someone not seeing the previous films.

>He does want to see Iron Man. Is it possibly too intense for his age?<

I would say that "Iron Man" is less intense then "Spider-Man".

"what Marvel is doing is ingenious, basically putting all of their movies in the same Universe having them all be connected in some way."

I just think it's funny that this idea, which seems so obvious now, took so long to be implemented, especially considering that it's been done in comic books since forever.

The geeks are inheriting the earth.

It'd actually be cool if they could get a cameo by Spider-man in one of these some day. Spidey always worked well with others.

Looks like the press release indicates Ant-Man's still in development. I hear Edgar Wright wanted to do a story about the second Ant-Man, so maybe it'll be a spin-off from the Avengers movie? That would likely drive some extra traffic to the little guy.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
