Okay, what no one here answered, a billboard on the freeway did: "Toy Story Mania." Is it in Disneyland, or CA Adventure, and does it take the place of a former ride/attraction?

To answer question posted in #22

the attraction is inside Disney's California Adventure. The billboards will most likely say Disneyland resort on them though like most of the promotions.

As for the attraction all i can reccomend is that people avoid seeing the video. Yes it gives you an idea of what the inside looks like but it really is a bad refernce to make a final decision on what the attraction ahs to offer.

The attraction has been receiving very good reviews from people that have ridden it. The 3d and 4d effects are spectacular and the somewhat chaotic pace of the attraction along with the spinning sensation and the layout of the main showroom really emerse you into the environment.

Is it an "E" ticket? no it was never meant to be one but it really is a very interactive experience that uses many levels of effects to make you feel like you have been reduced to size and transported into a real midway fair.

How is it not okay for RoadTrip to call someone a troll but it's okay for others in this thread?

What I'm looking for in a series of attractions or even a whole themepark is balance. Are the low-tech dark rides balanced with the high-tech thrill ride? Is there enough for my 4 year old to do while still keeping my 13 year old entertained? Based on the last few attractions, is there a worrisome trend that would lead to an unbalance (in the force) in my themepark experience?

California Adventure is a unique situation because there was such an unbalance at the beginning the whole park never got its footing. The various attempts to provide balance, so far, suffer from what I would call "lack of a serious effort". A Tower of Terror that is inferior to what we know WDI can do. A Monster's Inc attraction that is good, a solid B effort by most accounts, but hasn't done enough to draw the crowds.

But Toy Story Midway Mania doesn't seem to suffer from a "lack of serious effort." Instead it is a very serious attempt to fill a need, or at least a perceived need. That need being to entertain today's youth who grow up on video games and the like. The question is are they correct in their assumptions?

So that's a different discussion than what the OP is suggesting.

>>Methinks that there is a troll among us.<<
Oh, yeah.

>>So that's a different discussion than what the OP is suggesting.<<
The OP didn't suggest a discussion. There was simply a wrong headed set of assertions that are basically indefensible. (Unless simply jumping up and down while bellowing is some sort of "defense.")

Nicely, I will ask: Has the OP experienced this attraction? If not, on what basis would the OP make a series of assertions that I find wrong?

I know that a lot of people are knocking this attraction based on the videos are around but I don't think that a video can truly capture a whole ride.

Personally, I'm not expecting Indy, PoC or HM. I'm expecting something along the lines of Buzz with video screens.

To me the real questions are if the 3d is any good and are the games any fun. To me that will determine if the attraction is any fun.
