For those going to the park this Saturday morining (7 AM to 11 AM), you will see a group of protesters near the entrances to the Timon Parking Lot, and the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. "Save VMK Unite" has filed the proper paperwork and has been issued permits by the city for the protests.

More information about the event can be found here.

I am trying not to laugh but this is a bit over the top to me. It is a game, it was a nice game, but it is just a game. I am sure there will be others in the future. There are so many worthy causes out there to fight for, I just don't see this as one of them.

My daughter was pretty upset when she heard it was closing.

>>It is a game, it was a nice game, but it is just a game.<<

I get the impression that it's as much a social networking site as a game. Naturally, people would be annoyed at losing their favorite place to hang out.

Life isn't free, Disney cannot support a free online game forever.... Maybe these guys who were addicted to the game can get out and go to the REAL Disneyland...

So we've come to it at last. People protesting IN PERSON what happens in a virtual world owned and run by a company.

Perhaps Wolf Blitzer can bring up the subject to Clinton, Obama, and McCain? I'd like to hear their positions on this important matter.

Oh I have so much I would like to say but will resist.

If I remember correctly Disney has said from the start this was only a temporary item and would not be ongoing. Welcome to reality kids. If you want to save the VMK, the pony up some money!

If you are really going to protest there are some other major causes that you could channel your energy towards. Computers adn computer games are great, but sometimes you just need to experience the real world and not a "virtual" one.

Gee, and I said I was going to resist making comments. Oh well.

I never heard that VMK was temporary until just recently, when Disney announced the closure.

It was never mentioned when the website opened, or when they marketed it.

Even the deal with Disney Pins was kept active until last month.

Many folks think that Disney claiming it was designed to be temporary from the beginning is just more Disney "spin".
