Today we went to Animal Kingdom. Headed off early again to be there in time for opening. Made a beeline straight for Expedition Everest. I love the details of this ride. It sounds stupid, but I think I've actually gotten attached to the bird on the stick. I missed it being there. We got off and immediately got another fastpass to ride again later. We headed over from there to Dinosaur Hurl... I mean Whirl and then over to Dinosaur. Unfortunately we ended up stuck in a car with screaming cussing teenagers. On a plus side I mentioned this to a CM and he gave us a pass to ride again later. We walked through the Majaraja Jungle Trek and did our favorite activity; hidden Mickey hunting. I think we have found every one in every mural now.

We walked around to Flights of Wonder and saw the show. This is still one of our favorite shows. We see it every trip. We had not seen the new Nemo Musical yet so we headed over there. We loved it. While I do believe they have overused the whole Nemo franchise, I really did like the Nemo Musical. Even DH and DS loved it.

We decided it was lunch time so we went to our favorite; Flame Tree BBQ. It's a nice relaxing place to unwind for a little while. After lunch we were heading to the Safari but I decided that I would for once and all find the hidden pathway, so we walked around the back and we found it. It was very overgrown. There was nothing there obviously blocking it so DS and I decided that we were going to go for it. DH decided to stand on the side and look at us disapprovingly. We made it around back and it's all overgrown and there is a fallen tree back there, but the stepping stones are still there and you can still cross the streams. Someone has left a chair back there to sit.

We headed to the Safari and it was really getting hot so we were afraid that there wouldn't be many animals out. We were wrong. This time we saw the most animals I have ever seen. But, the funniest thing I have ever seen was when we came around the corner to the lion. There he was. The king of the beasts, all sprawled out on his back in a very non-glamorous pose.

We headed back to Dinosaur and this time we carefully waited to jump into line between the least obnoxious people we could find. We had a much better ride this time.

We headed back to the hotel to grab the in-laws as we had priority seating at Boma for dinner. We ate WAY too much food. Of course DS was the first to hit the dessert bar and got the Zebra Domes and had scarfed one down before we saw the warning sign. I figure that since they aren't being served by a bartender it probably was ok.

We checked out the Animal Kingdom Lodge, found some cool drums, looked for hidden Mickeys, embarrassed DH by dancing like Masai warriors, chatted with a really nice CM from Cape Town and then headed back to the hotel and called it a night.

MY DS12 did (and still does) the same thing with the chocolate mousse type dessert at Boma. We only allow him to have a loittle, but he loves it. No one has ever said anything to him.

<<The king of the beasts, all sprawled out on his back in a very non-glamorous pose.>>

My cat does this when she wants a belly rub. Maybe Ol' Lionel the Lion wanted a tummy pet too.

Also... Mmmmm! Boma!
