Well, last Spring I did it...I finally went back to school. I took Poli Sci 1 and got an A. Then, in fall, I took General Engineering 101 and History and got an A in each. This semester it's health and sociology and I'm on the way to an A in each of those.

Summer promises to be busy with Intermediate Algebra and English 101 over eight weeks.

Fall will be Geometry and Speech.

And all this while working full time!

Anyone else doing something similar?

Wow..no one replied to your post, cmpaley!

I am just now finishing up my Spring semester...I've been going full time, and working part time.

I had to drop my English class this semester, so I'm retaking it over the summer, and if I pass my History class, then I only have 3 left to get my AA!

But I'm taking a break after the summer until Fall '09, when my baby starts Kindergarten.

I'm proud of you!!!!!

Whoa, no wonder you don't post here very often! You'd have to do it in your sleep. ;-)

Well done on the grades and going back to school. That takes a lot of guts, I think. Keep it up!

I didn't see this post until now but I have been going to school fulltime and working fulltime since 2002. It has been a long road but if I pass my advanced finance class I will have my MBA with a specialty in Information Management in June. All I can say is keep with it, it will be long and hard but everything does have an ending...
One benefit has been in that time I have quadrupled my salary too!

I just graduated last May with my BA in Psychology. I was on the 18 year plan! I went to school full-time while raising two kids but didn't work otherwise outside the home.

Congratulations to you!

Way to go guys. I am pursuing my Programme Manager professional accreditation currently (my BSc was thankfully full time, but I had to work when studying for my Social Work Diploma, PRINCE2 Project Management Accreditation, and my training, finance and management accreditations). I really am thinking about trying to do my PHD part time, and have a number of professors trying to encourage me.

Those of you who are parents with careers too, how do you find balancing all the priorities?

dwb,

it's so very hard, but luckily, my kids are in school now. At the college, there's a preschool where Alandra goes when I'm in classes and working, and Alex's school has an after school program that she attends until I can pick her up.

It's hard to get a full time schedule and a part time work schedule between the hours of 8 and 3..which is why I loved working at the high school, since they wanted college students, and knew they would have schedule conflicts.

And my kids have learned that it's frozen dinners during the week...pizza, chicken nuggets, tv dinners...or quick fix meals, like hamburger helper or spaghetti. Because we get home at 4, then it's homework, dinner, baths, and in bed for the girls by 8pm.

I'm really looking forward to this summer...it's going to be much more relaxed...and since I'm moving, I'll have a job much closer to my house, not 30 miles away like now.

Last week, I started my first college class in just over 20 years, and I'm really enjoying being back on campus.

So far, I'm just taking a single 2-unit computer class ("CIS 152: Introduction to Web Page Design Using HTML") at my local community college. I don't know if this is the start of something more, or just goofing around. Probably the latter.

Here's my first week's assignment:
