Hey, as the subject explains, I'm a regular (annual passholder) at the DLR in California. It just so happens that I'm leaving for Europe (TOMORROW May 6th) and will be in Paris from the 12th until the 20th of May. It is a school (college) trip with about 13 other people.

My main question is, can I access Disneyland Paris by the metro? I have never been to Paris before. I don't really plan on going to Disneyland when I'm there but... it could happen! I'm a huge Disneyland fanatic so I might make the spontaneous decision to trek east over to DLP with one or two other people that are on the trip with me. It wouldn't be a carefully planned visit.. kind of just going so that we can say we've been there, take in the sights, go on probably 5 rides (I don't know what the crowds are like at this time of year), very last-minute.

If anyone would care to answer further, do you know some of the MAJOR differences between DLP and the Disneyland park in California? (Magic Kingdom parks only)

Oh, and I am staying at the Maison des etudiants canadiens or something... on 31 Boulevard Jourdan. Our RER station is Cite Universitaire

Hey lil_kim ....

The RER line A (the red one on the public transportation map) brings you right to the gates of both Disney parks. Just be sure that your train is heading to "Marne-la-Vallee Chessy" when boarding.

I assume you are student? You should get a nice discount at the parks' ticket booths with your (international) student's ID...

Not sure what happened to my reply earlier, but the major differences are IASW, POTC, PM, and Big Thunder Mountain. Only going for one day, you should mainly concentrate on one park, but it's entirely up to you. Also, if you are into shows, the Lion King show is incredible and they have showings in both French and English.

Most of the Cast Members speak English and French and if you are unsure their name tags have the language they speak on them. They even have maps in english so you don't have to worry about that either.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Sorry I am late to the party, hopefully not too late. Personally even as a DLer, I think going to DLP is totally worth it. DLP is the biggest of the DL style parks, bigger than DL, the MK, TDL and HKDL. This gives the place a feel all it's own and has many things to explore.

IMHO it has the best versions of Phantom Manor (HM), Big Thunder, PotC, IASW, and Space Mountain (complete with 3 inversions). There are a lot of unique things for DLP too - the castle including the gallery and the dungeon with the Dragon; lot's of walk through exhibits in Main Street (the arcades), Frontierland (the fort), Adventureland (the caves and bridges of Adventure Isl as well as the Aladdin walk through) and the Nautilus in Discoveryland. As well Alice's Curious Labrynth and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril coaster being unique.

Plus the 15th parade is really good too.

In the Studios, there are some great attractions too, many better than their WDW counterparts. However, if you only have one day, go to DLP.

Also William is right about people having their flags of languages spoken on the name tags, but it is rare they have these. That said, all cast members are supposed to speak both French and English. Enjoy.

"I don't really plan on going to Disneyland when I'm there but... it could happen! I'm a huge Disneyland fanatic"

That is a glaring contradiction!

You say you're a huge fan..... but yet you might not go or are deliberating about seeing the absolutely finest looking Magic Kingdom/Disneyland on earth even though you're in the "neighborhood". You don't get back to Europe, specifically Paris, very often right?

Maybe you're not a huge fan afterall.

I know if I were anywhere, yes anywhere in Europe(except probably Iceland) come Hell or high water I would find a way to tap Disneyland Paris--- it's that beautiful and unique.

Agreed. Out of the 49 trips to DLP, I have only gone Paris 10 of those. But then again, I live in Europe.

You can't live in Europe without having your next trip to DLP planned mine is (Nov 08)
All times are Pacific Time (US)
