I'm an annual passholder at the DLR. It just so happens that I'm leaving for Europe (tomorrow, May 6th) and will be in Paris from the 12th until the 20th of May. It is a school (college) trip with about 13 other people.

I don't really plan on going to Disneyland when I'm there but... it could happen... I might make the spontaneous decision to trek east over to DLP with one or two other people that are on the trip with me.

It wouldn't be a carefully planned visit, very last-minute.

If anyone has been to both DL and DLP before, or knows a lot about DLP and DL, could you tell me what the major differences are between the magic kingdom parks...?

Having never been to DLP I can't really claim to be an expert on this topic but I would think a bunch of CMs speaking French would be very different to me.

I went there last year and it really is quite simple to get from Paris to DLP and vice versa.

As for the differences, well at Disney Studios you have Cinemagique, a fantastic show that is a true original, real Disney magic in this one, then you have Rock N Roller Coaster, a decent roller coaster, Armageddon, which is a skip attraction unless you have a taste for Backdraft at Universal Studios. There is also Crush Coaster and a few other smaller rides (think tea cups themed to cars and Dumbo themed to Aladdin)

Over at Disneyland, first off it is the most beautiful Disney park I have ever seen, from the hotel all the way to Frontierland, pure beauty. The most jarring differences are IASW which is probably the best out of all the parks. Space Mountain is unique in that it has a launch and a couple of loops inside of it. Phantom Manor is quite unique with an original ending that I absolutely loved. Big Thunder Mountain is probably the best out of all of the Disney parks, and POTC is top notch as well, the differences are noticable.

Disneyland also has an Indiana Jones themed coaster I never got to experience as well. They also have a few clones like Star Tours and Honey I Shrunk the Audience that you can skip without fear of missing much. I hope this helps, and if it doesn't I am sure davewasbaloo will be on shortly and he has been to DLP a few thousand times, so he can give you even better advice.

Yes, it does. I recommend the Beaujoulais to accompany a good meal ;-)

Please see the DLP section for my comments. In short, go to DLP, it is awesome.

I say again, if you can afford it, get a 1 day Parkhopper just for Cinenamagique, I am absolutely in love with that show, especially if you are a fan of movies.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
