>>Why do we even bring it up as a news story?<<

Because in this weary world, there are still a few things you don't expect to read about. Chair-sniffing is one of them.

Actually, it is also newsworthy because it was done as an insulting "joke" by a public official, and he had denied it for a long time.

<<I'll bet it does explain everything, debtee, I just don't know why. Is Perth sorta' like Wisconsin?>>

Wisconsin is not on trial here, for once.

This last paragraph made me feel better about the whole thing.

"The MP had done it to get a laugh from colleagues, she claimed. "I was shocked and outraged and I told him," she said."

So he did it in front of some other guys. Sort of like an inappropriate and immature frat boy joke. And not some chair sniffing perv. I don't know why that makes me feel better. But it does. I should reiterate immature and inappropriate

This is what becomes of creating a civilization using felons as the starting block.

Why this is a news story is beyond me.

And to be absoulutely accurate, the title should read "Australian Liberal Admits Sniffing Female's Chair."

There, that make anyone feel better? I thought not...

I enjoy "the scent of a woman" as much as the next guy.

But chair sniffing?? Seeking the scent of a woman that has absolutely no interest in you?

That is totally pathetic.
