Here's what I want to know. How can the oil companies continue to post record profits and then say there's nothing they can do about the rising price of a gallon of gas?

And before (and if) anyone answers- screw the shareholders. Record profits doesn't mean they're barely getting by. It means they're making money hand over fist. They can still make money and not make as much as they made before.

When this post started, gas was 3.65 a gallon!
I especially enjoy hearing about it every morning when I turn on the news.

Last week, I for the first time learned what my normal gas station authorizes pay-at-the-pump credit card transactions for ($100), since I was unable to fill my tank before the pump cut off. Wow - a $100 tank of gas!

gottaluv--are you saying you paid $5.00/gallon?

And when are they going to change the shut-off at the pump from $75.00? My hubby can never even fill up.

Well, he better be taking the Saturn at least a couple of days next week.
And I guess our DL trip is going to cost an extra $100.00 more to drive than last April.
