Oh dave, so glad to hear your family was okay after that. That's so scary and awful.

What about a car vs. a big rig? I just wonder if you're safer in a bigger vehicle in a case like that? I guess I'm a little paranoid about car accidents!! :$

It was very scary. I have a huge amount of faith in the Volkswagon group ever since. And they are cheap to run and maintain too.

I think if you are going to hit a big rig, you are a goner whatever really. Having driven so many miles for so many years, I just look at the vehicle ratings and buy a safe one. But if my time is up, it's up.

Well, sure I wish gas were cheaper--and heck, $3.65-3.75 IS cheaper than what we're seeing in the SF Bay Area--but, shrugging is more my reaction than getting up in a tizzy. Cut back usage, do what you can, sure, but at this point what annoys me is everyone whining about it; gas prices are joining the weather as the lowest form of conversation!

Mobile Oil's profits are up 17% for 1Q 2008 vs. 1Q 2007. How nice for THEM.

My raises this year and last were both a whopping 2% that doesn't begin to cover inflation. How about you guys?

Gas was $1.25/gal when W. took office. Glad we got an oilman in the White House.

It was about $1.65/gal when W. invaded Iraq. Glad we got a war monger in the White House.

It was less than $3.00 a gallon before the "surge". Glad we got such a fast learner in the White House.
