I would think the reason they don't do it this way now in WDW is it would mean either closing the park earlier for day guests or starting the event later since you have to allow time to clear the park. This way, people can still enter ride lines right up until 7p and the party can still start at 7p as well.

But they do so many of these events. Why not offer these parades and shows to all ticket holders and increase passport rates across the board. That's how they do it at DL and even DLP (with the exception of the Halloween Soiree where they close the park at 7:30 and reopen at 8:30 - 2 nights a year).

That's my beef. We were at WDW for nearly 2 weeks and had 4 opportunities to see Wishes. However, because we had to make our ADRs so far in advance, we only had 2 slots (Christmas parade filming day while Pop Warner was on - heaving mess) and the other was a little more civilised. But what about the folks that only go for a few days. They are forced to pony up extra to see the fireworks!

I don't mind paying for quality. But it just feel so mercenary when you can go to DL, DLP, TDL and HKDL and get special shows for the cost of your admission without teiring the guests.

For the most part, I have to agree with you Dave. I really enjoyed MNSSHP and the Pirate and Princess Party, but on our next trip I'm hoping that the parties don't interfere with our time in the parks.
