That said, of course I don't want to pay $12 to park. This is Southern California where people drive and expect free parking everywhere!<<

You've got to be kidding me? Disney's parking is reasonable compared to the 20 dollars I paid in Downtown San Diego when I went to a Padre game last year. Got there at noon, left at 430pm , so 20 dollars for 4 1/2 hours or 12 for all day.

Seems reasonable to me....

DL parking is still cheap enough to keep the structure filled, and that's the point.

I regularly pay more than that in big cities, at airports and hotels and when I take my kids to see the Disney-on-Ice show.

But if the increased price keeps a few people away, I'm glad.

"People expect to park for free in So. Cal.?"

San Diego Zoo has free parking (I don't know about the Wild Animal Park). And it's still under 40 to get in.

Yes.... I guess Disney parking is fairly reasonable compared to alot of other places and city's.... it's just that the dollar hike really seems unjustified and unnecessary considering it just went up from $10 to $11 last year.

THANK YOU .. My exact sentiment!

>>They raised it because they can, pure and simple. I doubt your vehicle is being parked $1.00 better than it was last week.

Take heart, Disney fans. You're being fleeced here because they know you'll pay it anyway.<<

Gimme' a high five SingleParkPassholder!

A dollar in the short run does not make a big difference .. as it does over the long run!

A dollar up for this .. a dollar up for that ... $66 for a day in the DLR ... 4 bucks a gallon for gas .. another dollar up for parking ....... HECK .. It's not like the human race is pricing itself out of existence!

God for bid that ever happens in the housing market.

Errrr .... What a minute!

Even though I have the PAP (that includes parking- So therefore this news doesn't affect me ... though the price of gas to get down there does :x) .....I have a little sympathy for those who try to go to DL on a limited budget once a year or so .. and are confronted with rising prices for EVERYTHING all the time!

How long will it be when DL and DCA go for $70/even a day?!

Just a mere 7 years ago (2001) the price was $43.

Disney is only going to charge what people will pay, once people stop paying for it, the price will go down...It's not called fleecing the customer, it's called running a succesful business.

"Just a mere 7 years ago (2001) the price was $43."

Yes, yes, yes! We have been going to DL for 15 years and have seen the prices go up and up and up with no end in sight. It started out that our $$ could spring for the DLH and then the prices went out of our range, so we moved to Harbor Blvd. accomodations. We used to go for 5 days and now it is 3 or 2; sometimes only 1 day if we are doing something else, too, for that vacation, such as San Diego.

The raise in the parking fee is just a drop in the bucket of how high the cost of DL has gotten for thouse of us who live too far to warrant APs, and even then, an AP for 5 people is beyond most family's budgets.

Maybe we will just reduce our trips to every other year and look at other vacation venues.

How much does it cost to use the ART (is that what it's called?) system?

All times are Pacific Time (US)
