| SuperDry Sat 5/10/2008 12:33p | <<< There's no way in hell they have to charge that much to barely eke out a profit on beer. They're doing it because the majority of their customers are a captive audience and so therefore they do it because they can. >>>
First of all, the "they" involved is very different. Isn't UVA Bar independently owned and operated, as are most offerings in DtD? The economics facing an independent operation are very different than those that TWDC must deal with. The pricing on beer you mention reminds me of the prices charged for gasoline at the station by the airport just before the rental car return: it's often much higher than elsewhere in town, and they charge more because they can. But UVA Bar doesn't have the issue that TWDC company does, with having to plan for the next many years into the future. |

It looks better to an slight increase in parking than ticket prices. Also for 49er games in SF parking is $25.00 and a lot of it is on dirt lots unless you have season tickets. |

| Disneydanny Sat 5/10/2008 11:06p | Do they still offer the Premium Annual Passes w/o the Parking add-on? when I renewed my AP at the beginning of the year I couldn't find an option to get JUST the Premium AP and being that I don't drive that seems kind of awaist of the extra $$$ but I do like the Premium AP for it's discount benefits and no blackout days. |

| Elderp Sun 5/11/2008 8:14a | No if you go PAP you have to get parking. |

| Darkbeer Sun 5/11/2008 8:15a | Premium AP's automatically come with parking at no extra charge, no matter what.
So the main three options...
Deluxe without parking - $259
Deluxe with parking - $318
Premium - $379 |

| believe Sun 5/11/2008 9:46a | The fact is, it's a supply and demand world. If people stop parking there, prices will drop. Wouldn't call it greed.
If it's greed, what would you call slashing the prices of tickets 50 percent (aka 2-fer). Supply and demand - if not enough people show up from January to May, they'll drop the price. Same with parking |

Only on the strip. Downtown you have to pay unless you get a validation which is usually pretty easy. |

| haiderodes Mon 5/12/2008 12:39p | Six Flags Magic Mountain charges $15.
Universal Studios Hollywood charges $12.
Knotts Berry Farm charges $10 with no in/out privilege...which is worst offender of them all.
That said, I think Disney is being "competitive". |

| fkurucz Mon 5/12/2008 1:57p | ^^That still doesn't mean its good. But since at all these theme/amusement parks you have no real choice but to park there, they can raise prices at will. The only breaking point will be if customers decide that the whole experience is no longer worth the total cost. Raising parking by a buck every year won't scare anyone away. They might grumble, just like they grumble over $3 cokes and other overpriced snacks, and annual pass increases, etc.
I think that the economy could be a bigger factor causing people to not come. Say inflation really gets out of hand. People will have to give up luxuries. Some might put off buying a new car. Others might eat out less frequently. And some APs might not get renewed. |
