Shocking, I know. I got bored with the leis and found something else. I mean really, lei'ing that many people can be tedious. You should try it sometime and you'll see.

Thu 5/15/2008 9:37a		So how does this work? 50 people getting together at the Tiki Hut? Do the CM's help? It's hard for me to keep my crew together. I don't want to miss this and I think its going to be a great experience for my kids, family and friends :) - this is our first LP meet.

Thu 5/15/2008 9:55a		Well, tripplanner, I am honored that you chose my meet as your first. I believe you join an elite group of people who have previously also chosen this as their first ever LP meet.

I enjoy hosting it each year and I do try to make it fun.

NOTE: This is a non-Disney sanctioned event and I also believe it is not an "official" LP meet. (Only Doobekah meets are official!!!)

Bascially, I play it by ear each year, but with five under my belt, we kinda have it down.

We try very hard and go out of our way to not bother or in any way, shape, or form annoy other guests. This is rule number 1.

But, I get there early, wait across the way, and hand out things to try to get everyone to enter at the same time so we are in the same show. I also have lovely assistants who help me. Before the pre-show we can chat and do pictures and then I give a short speech and then we go in.

I cannot stress enough how seriously I take the "do not annoy other guests" policy.

But, we have fun. In past years, the CMs have been great and ask us how we've met and are amazed that we love the Tiki Room so much and they play along. If they don't then we just have a clunker year and enjoy the show.

Oh, and we sing.

I mean really, really SING during the show. Loudly.

Afterwards, we dawdle to let the other guests exit and then we all gather for a group photo on the Tiki Room exit stairs. Usually we are loud enough to attrack a CM who takes 2,439 photos using everyone's cameras.

Oh, and Tiki Hut? ;/ We are meeting at Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.
