This topic is for Discussion of Latest: Mickey logos in the sky
Wired reports on a company that creates logos that float in the sky. Next month Disney will be using them to put Mickey silhouette logos in the sky over Walt Disney World. Click here for more.

Well, we've known about this technology for a few months, as one of their obvious first clients was Disney because in their early work they were making Mickey heads.

The question is, what does Disney intend to use them for?

Disney has forever wanted to control the skies of it's property. Maybe if you put enough of them in the air it will be too dangerous to fly around.

Those look pretty neat. While I think it would get really annoying if they were constantly pumping Mickeys into the sky, I don't think it would be too bad if they used them for a show or something. They definately seem like they have a ton of potential for sporting events, or some sort of grand finale to a show. The only real problem that I could see with that is they take about 15 seconds to make each one, so it would be tough to get a bunch to all appear at once. I do sort of wonder how Disney will use them though...
