Mark, you really paid the Studios a diservice. You did not seem to mention Cinemagique or Moteurs Action - the two real gems of the park.

To be honest, we spend equal time in the two parks these days and to do the Studios properly takes more than a day, even when the place is quiet. Just my 2 cents.

I agree, Cinemagique is the cornerstone of WDSP, to skip that, you are skipping the premiere attraction at the park. You even mentioned wanting to see original attractions, well you missed a doozy in Cinemagique. From your review I also see you skipped Armageddon and Rock N Roller Coaster. Both good attractions as well, hopefully next time you will give those attractions a shot.

I am not saying WDSP is perfect, but I feel you might have given it a bad rap because even with all it's faults, it does have some positives.

Agreed. The theming and nuances need improving (and boy, in the lest 2 years, that has been at pace). But the quality of the attractions, the streetmousphere and even the rubberheads make this place a great day out, and better than any theme park in the UK!

It's like having two sisters, one is alright looking and fun to be with, the other stunning and charismatic. All of sudden, the alright sister seems homely. A shame.

I understand your view, but to me its like this:
Older sister is gorgeous, dresses up for your date, and is charming, way easy on the eyes and doesn't disappoint.
Younger sister is nice, pleasant, but not all that interested in making you ask for a second date. Maybe one day...

Neither my wife nor I enjoy film based attractions- for the most part. And stage shows can be seen anywhere. But real- honest to goodness attractions ie that actually transport you somewhere are Disney's forte. And they are hard to be found at WDSP. Even the theming of the buildings in bare. And gardens- not much to be found. The park was clearly built quickly and is getting better- but not worth the money. Yet. Maybe one day.
Just this man's opinion.

Mark, you missed out big style then. No wonder you didn't like the park. And MA is the best stunt show in the industry costing a fortune to show. Huge loss for you. They are both more Disney than a stupid Space Mountain or Dumbo.

Saw the Stunt Show in Florida. It is good. But wasn't interested in seeing it again. Especially when the lands of the Magic Kingdom beckoned. I didn't mean to offend anyone with my opinion- its just how I saw things. I even think at this point that California Adventure is better done than WDSP. Again, just my opinion.

I happen to have surprised myself at how much I enjoy WDSP.

It's not that I can forgive Michael Eisner, Paul Pressler and Jay Rasulo for building such a half-assed looking second-gate across from the most beautiful fully-realized MK of them all.

It's just that despite the bland, empty look -- which is changing now ... And despite the lack of a full-serve dining locale -- the only Disney park in the world without one -- which hopefully will be changing soon ... well, despite that the attractions are, for the most part, first-rate and not seen in other parks (RnRC is superior to FLA and I haven't been back since ToT opened). In other words, underneath the ugly exterior some terrific attractions exist.

And then you add in the entertainment ... and even the soundtrack of the park and well, it's a fun place. Not nearly what it should have been. But not nearly as bad as it was when it opened and as it appears on the surface.

Sometimes you do have to open the book and read a bit before you judge ... and I'm as critical as it comes as far as how and why this park was developed instead of the Disney-MGM Studios Europe park that was supposed to debut around 1995-96.

I agree Spirit. There are a lot of improvements required for the studios (table service dining, more theming, an AA that can be enjoyed by the whole family, as well as some more theming. But, I feel the park really is a diamond in the rough. People treat it like it is a waste of time, where I feel that is disingenuous.
