I have no advice on how to handle the stressload, Dave, but know that my thoughts are with you and your family. We all reach a breaking point when it all becomes too much, and the important thing is, you recognize that.

I wish I had something more to offer, something more substantial than you're in my thoughts and prayers, but it's sincere.

Hey Dave thanks for responding. What I meant was, try to separate your outlet and your support. That is, vent what you need to about work and life. But if you feel as if you are going in to defense mode, get off LP and go for a walk, be with your family or go kick around a soccer ball. Channel your negative feelings in to something positive. That way you won't say something you regret. Believe me, I did it a couple of years ago and damaged a few friendships on here. It taught me a good lesson the hard way.

Thank you so very much for coming on to explain Dave. I must admit I was pretty worried. I will be thinking the best possible thoughts for you, Sarah and those darling little ones of yours.
I am currently in Arkansas visiting my mother. Rod has had absolutely NO breaks while I have been gone. I will take a page out of Sarah's book and whisk him off somewhere peaceful when I get home.
We love you guys so much and just hate to think of things being hard for you.
Hugs to the whole Baloo clan. We will be on pins and needles waiting to hear good news from work and home.
Congrats to Mikey for making it to the big 5!!!!

Best wishes and hugs to big ol' Baloo and his bear clan.

Follow your heart on this one...you will always do the right thing. Sometimes it takes one big man with one big heart to take on burdens most of us could never bear to hold.

You have such a worthy life to live! Don't run faster than you have strength...you'll make it through this, and we'll see you back safe and sound in a few weeks. {{{Baloos}}}

BTW, Dave, I really hope I'm not coming off as preachy or rude. I will always be here if you or your family need anything! You all are so awesome and one of my favorite memories of the day we met (there were so many!) was carrying Mikey down that hill while he was asleep. ((((Baloos))))

Thanks Lulu. I just have a couple of more hours work to do, a good night sleep and then we roll tomorrow.

As for walking, currently I walk a couple of miles in London the days I am there (about 3-4 a week). Makes me grumpier most of the time as people bash into you. Imagine Mew York City or Tokyo with more umbrellas.

2oony, nothing more substantial needed. Just hearing such kind thoughts helps me keep on moving forward.

No problemo JazzCat. Sometimes a different perspective is very useful. I am a little confused about a few things right now. But I will get through these events right now. Focus on Mikey's 5th on Friday, and then celebrating that with family over the weekend.

Thank you everyone for the great thoughts. Let's see how tomorrow goes.

One more inspirational thought, if you will permit me, to show that great men (and women) who carry great burdens (like a hurting, tender heart) are not alone. You're a very brave man to do the work you do. xoxo

"For man's greatest actions are performed in minor struggles. Life, misfortune, isolation, abandonment and poverty are battlefields which have their heroes - obscure heroes who are at times greater than illustrious heroes."--Victor Hugo

Good Timber
by Douglas Malloch

The tree that never had to fight
For sun and sky and air and light,
But stood out in the open plain
And always got its share of rain,
Never became a forest king
But lived and died a scrubby thing.
The man who never had to toil
To gain and farm his patch of soil,
Who never had to win his share
Of sun and sky and light and air,
Never became a manly man
But lived and died as he began.

Good timber does not grow with ease,
The stronger wind, the stronger trees,
The further sky, the greater length,
The more the storm the more the strength.
By sun and cold, by rain and snow,
In trees and men good timbers grow.
Where thickest lies the forest growth
We find the patriarchs of both.
And they hold counsel with the stars
Whose broken branches show the scars
Of many winds and much of strife.
This is the common law of life.
