| tomfoolery7 Sun 5/11/2008 9:59p | Im going to disneyworld next week and we were wanting to take a cab to universal for a day. Any clue on how much it would be or how to make reservations for one? thanks! |

| seafairy1622 Mon 5/12/2008 6:18p | this is good to know. My kids and I are going to Universal from the airport (fairfeild hotel) staying 5 nights, then heading to DW. I was wondering what the best way was to get around. |

It would be a good cheap alternative, but only if you get up early and prepare yourself for delays.
Sadly, the Central Clorida situation is VERY "car oriented", and particularly in trying to get from one theme park zone to another (obviously they don't make it easy cause they don7t want you hopping over the "the competition" right?).
This might be slightly against the rules and all, BUT is there any chance one could go to one of the hotels (maybe on the hotel plaza blvd for example) and make use of THEIR shuttle to Universal? Generally I've found those to be pretty much "no questions asked", and if they give you a hard time you COULD say that you are checking in when you return (which very well could be true, right?).
Just a thought.
tom, have you researched all the rules and regs for under 25 drivers? You might have to pay a bit more, but maybe that still might be your best option (I know the rules differ from state to state and in some places it's near impossible for a young adult to rent a car, which totally sucks!).
Just a few random thoughts. Good luck!

It might be useful to inquire at your hotel about what options you might have. If it's a Disney hotel, why not ask THEM if they have any partner hotels along the blvd (or Swan and Dolphin maybe) who could help you out.
Can't hurt, anyway. Heck, they've got free shuttles going all over the place. Might as well take advantage of them! |
