Let me be the first to say, too bad.
The customer is always right. |

If you do everything the customer wants you will go broke.
How many of you big complainers have ever run ANY business? I'm even willing to give credit for a lemonade stand, but I bet you didn't run one of those either. It's real easy to say what should be done when it isn't your money on the line.

| davewasbaloo Thu 5/15/2008 11:15p | True Roadtrip. But I have run some very successful businesses, and there are still some boneheaded moves taking place. I don't mind that parking went up a buck or the Hyperion does not have bathrooms. But adding toons to IASW is a cost, and I do not think it will reap a good return on investment. There is an example of something that is not good.
Or they let the HM get so run down at WDW, that the big refurb probably cost them much more than continual maintainance. And not only cost. We found the MK in such a state, we have little desire to return there. And I do not think we are alone. So that impact on their demo forecasts. |

If Disney listened to these message boards they would have a park full of E ticket immersive rides with billion dollar queues, and guess what.... they would probably also be on the verge of Bankrupcy and broke. |

Do you not agree that they have "cheaped out" with many of their efforts recently, in comparison to the history of the parks and the company? |

| davewasbaloo Fri 5/16/2008 5:11a | I must admit, I would rather wait a few years and then get quality attractions, than shlock like MILF. There is room for A,B's etc. Jolly trolley is high quality, but never an E-ticket. They can do it.
Also the request for less toons would not run them into the ground. |

I didn't know that, but I always thought your criticism seemed to be more grounded in the real world than some of the rants by what I call the uberfans. I think the trick is to know places where you can improve quality without significantly increasing costs. As you mentioned, there are many places where that can be done.

If the lemonade tastes sour because the grower didn't water his crops enough or the lemonade stand owner decided not to invest in a little sugar to offset this, as a customer, should I just buy the lemonade anyway? Should I hand over my hard-earned 50 ¢ (nickel lemonade is hard to find these days) and drink the lemonade and not suggest adding a little sweetener?
Am I doing the lemonade stand owner any favors if I don't say anything? Most customers don't complain.
You know what they do? They just don't come back.
If Imagineers didn't see any suggestion instantly as over-the-top fanboy stuff, perhaps they could see it for what it is -- constructive criticism. Criticism that can be useful in knowing just how much sugar to add to the mix. |
