I don't care much for Barr, but anything that helps expand the debate beyond the two established political parties is a good thing in my book.
Your thoughts? |

I do believe we need a good, solid third party in the country, one that is beholden to the extremes on the right and left, and speaks to the underrepresented middle ground. A common sense party that doesn't have to pander to the religious right or the nutball left, but instead speaks more to ideas that make sense.
But so far, the Libertarian party isn't that, largely because they can't seem to make their policies and ideas understood without involving long-winded theoretical explanations and nonlinear algebra. |

First thing I think of something that might not be all that appropriate here. |

$40 trillion of debt is toooooo much to bear. Repubs and Demos will only make it worse (Demos worse than Repubs) |

| Dabob2 Tue 5/13/2008 12:47p | The Libertarians always run somebody, so this isn't a real big development. Bob Barr is slightly better known than some of their past candidates, but I don't think he'll make much of a dent. |
