<but the Democratic congresses under Reagan and Bush never altered those proposed budgets by more than a few percentage points around the margins.>

I cannot understand how a political party, even the Libertarian, could run a talking, Imperialist elephant for President. Besides, I always thought Babar was fictional. But now they tell us that Babar is going to run for President and take votes from John McCain? Is it because Babar is an ELEPHANT? Do people really think that Republicans will vote for an ELEPHANT for President, and take votes away from their own candidate? Oooooh, that just makes me so mad I could boil! Babar doesnt' stand a snowball's chance in...

What's that? Oh. It's not Babar, it's BOB BARR?

Never mind.

When Bob Barr was a Congressional representative in Georgia, there was a local shock-jock radio show (Letterman-style) and they wanted to perform a test to determine if Bob Barr was white or black. It seemed that no one could really tell one way or the other.

They hosted two different parties that would occur at the same time. One party would have wine, cheese and a viewing of a Formula One race, and the other party would have chitlins, watermelon and a viewing of an NBA game.

Both parties invited Barr, but he didn't show up to either. The mystery continues.

It is not. And if you're going to call it a lie, be prepared to show evidence; the budgets Reagan and Bush proposed vs. the budgets adopted. If you can't do that, don't expect to be taken seriously.

Update: Bob Barr has received the Libertarian nomination, with Wayne Allyn Root as his running mate.

In other news, former Democratic Representative Cynthia McKinney of Georgia has enough pledged delegates to clinch the Green Party presidential nomination, defeating a movement to draft Ralph Nader. (Nader is running as an independent.)

Oddly enough, Barr and McKinney were both turned out by Georgia voters in 2002. Weird, huh?
