ABC Prexy Steve McPherson unveiled the Fall Schedule in NYC this morning. No great surprise - ABC has the most stable schedule of all four majors:

I'm a huge fan of McPherson's - ABC's output is exactly the type of shows that I love watching.

Brothers & Sisters - still my personal favorite. Sharp, witty and beyond drama. Gets me every time.

Lost - still a great blast. Really seems to have rekindled people's interest in the show.

Desperate Housewives - almost reinvented itself as a outright comedy this season - and it was back to its best.

Scrubs - I'm so stoked to see Bill Lawrence's genius comedy on ABC. NBC never knew what to do with it and now they get 18 episodes to finish it properly before Mr Branff jumps to his next project for ABC Studios on Fox.

Life on Mars - the original was an incredible work of television. Probably the finest show made this past decade anywhere. With three new showrunners (I don't think David Kelley would ever have done a good job on this show) of which two worked on my favorite series of all time - Alias (Scott Rosenberg is the only relative newbie - although all three worked on October Road at ABC).

Still wish ABC could work on the comedy - glad to see of Carpoolers and Cavemen hit the road. Cashmere Mafia was awful. I am surprised Women's Murder Club isn't coming back - didn't care for it myself but it posted decent numbers on Friday night.

One day I'll read the new ABC Fall schedule and According to Jim won't be there. Sadly, that day is not today.

Doobie.

^^ LOL. That show stinks and it ain't cheap. But when you have nothing else "established" what can you do?

It could be worse - it could be George Lopez. :-p

Glad to see Eli Stone is back in addition to the shows on leemacs list. LoL, with regard to According to Jim, but when you look at the other comedies abc had last season (Cavemen,Carpoolers) you'll see why they kept it. Hopefully Scrubs will bring some much needed laughs to abc, but I don't know how they'll do it without Kelso.

This is Zach's take on the final episode on NBC:

From: Zach Braff

Subject: Scrubs moves to ABC

Dear friends,

Many of you have been understandably confused by the Fairy Tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the 8th and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the Fairy Tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned.

Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the Fairy Tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine. That was not Laverne however, for those of you who have been following closely; it was a new nurse "Shirley" who no one thinks looks anything like Laverne except for JD.

Hope this clears some things up.

peace and love,
zb

I agree with Lee that the original "Life On Mars" was some of the best television this decade. Right up until that last episode, that is. I hope the new showrunners figure that out better. Looks like a great cast too. This will get a high priority on my DVR.

My kids and I really like According to Jim, though, I must admit, this season has been a bit of a let down. Still, I'd rather watch the same episode of Jim over and over, then be subjected to a new episode of 'Cavemen' every night.

"Life on Mars - the original was an incredible work of television."

I watched the original on BBC America, and every time I finished an episode, I would say to my wife, "At some point, some network is gonna get smart and make an American version." She got so sick of hearing it, and it seemed like forever ago.

When I saw the commercial during LOST, I almost peed my pants. I watched the 5 second clip 20 times. I don't remember ever being this excited about a show.

"ABC's output is exactly the type of shows that I love watching."

The majority of what I watch is on ABC. For a while I was beginning to wonder if there really IS something in the water at WDW, since I am so inclined to that one network. But CBS bores me, NBC annoys me with their sameness, and FOX turns my stomach. ABC has its duds, and they can't seem to get comedy right, but their hour-longs are the best stuff on TV.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
