I still cannot get over having a grand piano in a McD's. That's a real 1st!

Our DD went to McD's in Belgium and she said it was much the same there. Chandeliers and white tablecloths! Totally blew her away! Wish she'd taken pictures!
Remind me, Dave, to pack my own coffee and coffee maker if we ever come out to the UK!

Lol. Sadly the coffee pot won't work, we are on 220v.

<<I suppose in a few years we'll all just shrug and shell out our $25 for a gallon of gas and our $229.50 for a big mac "value meal" and pine for the good old days. ;)>>

From your lips to the oil-producing nations' ears.

<<And coffee beans digested by cats and recycled for $110.>>

THAT'S what's intiguing me....eww.

***Sarah is right, for ease I have been using a 2 for 1 exchange. That burger was not a misprint, it is being trialled in 3 BKs in the UK (it will not sell well). Anyway, yes fastfood lunch here runs about $10. A big mac on its own is $7. a cup of coffee at Stabucks is 4. A dominoes pizza is 30.***

Wow. Tokyo is now officially far cheaper than the U.K. (although...I'm not familiar with the yen to pound exchange so that could make a difference).

Being that the dollar is so close to parity with the yen these days, doing the conversion is pretty easy.

A fast food meal runs, in general, from about $6 up to maybe $7 or $8 in some of the more pricey establishments (McD's is $5.90 - $6.90 I believe, they just raised prices), with a Big Mac costing $2.90 at present. A small coffee at Starbucks is $2.80.

For some reason we're both paying the same for pizza though (is that a pizza with "the works", or lots of toppings? if that's a PLAIN pizza then Japan is cheaper, $30 would be a very maxed out large pizza).

Those are Greater Tokyo prices, by the way. Away from the city it's a touch cheaper for fast food and other stuff.

You know, I bought some of those coffee beans, but then demanded a refund when I discovered they're not actually digested by CATS!

I've heard about the cats digesting the coffee beans but why cats? Won't some other animal do? Not that it would make any of it seem more palatable or appetizing... Anyone know?

And how do they get finicky cats to eat coffee beans in the first place?

I'd guess you'd start by spiking their regular food with caffeine? :p

<<Our DD went to McD's in Belgium>>

Did she have a Royale with Cheese?

I had a freaky experience at McD's once. They got my order correct while I went through the drive thru
