| SingleParkPassholder Fri 5/16/2008 6:31p | I have an unease that McCain is going to select Romney or Huckabee or some similar yahoo as his V.P. Why? Because I have this unease that since he'll be the oldest person ever to take office, and he's had cancer in the last several years, and he went through unspeakable physical torture during Vietnam, and also that the mental and physical stress that being president will all pile on together and reduce him to a drooling pile of goo sometime around 2011 when the stroke hits.
Meantime, there's this unease about Obama because he's at least 25 years younger and doesn't wear a lapel pin. |

| Kimber Fri 5/16/2008 9:59p | Hillary calls it the "October Surprise" - we won't know what it is until we hear it, and until it's too late - and the 24-hour news cycle dissects it - but it will ruin Obama completely - and when the kiddies he's courted become disillusioned by him and the elite become disgusted by him - when he is no longer their "new and shiny" toy candidate, when trendy becomes trash, when he becomes one of "them" and not one of "us" - as he certainly will, he will loose. His core support is too easily lost and Hillary's was to dearly won - there will be a massive swing in the Democratic core - look at the West Virginia exit polls and think Michigan and Ohio and Florida - and it will swing in favor of McCain. Regan had his white-working-class bite and McCain will draw far more.
The seamier side of the net is full of stories about Obama's current drug-use and abuse - his "down-low" lifestyle - his politically convenient conversion to Wright's version of Black Liberation Christianity - his cash flow incentives - his part in the murder of a gay choir master at Trinity - look at the tabloids, they're full of it and the MSM - still in the throes for him - isn't biting - YET. When a candidate is made primarily of Hype and little more anything aimed with care will stick - there are many, many, many, many, many things we don't know about Obama - but we will - and it will be too late.
So, let me be the first - "I told ya so."

Some of us don't get our news from the National Inquirer.

| DlandDug Sat 5/17/2008 11:22p | I feel we have now gone from the "fun house" aspect to the "Haunted Mansion" aspect of Obama's campaign. Or is it the "full body wrestling in whipped cream and jello" aspect? Whatever it is, I am suddenly even uneasier...
(P.S. Has any "October Suprise" since the original "October Surprise" [The alleged manipulation of the Iranian hostage crisis] actually occurred, or worked?)
(P.P.S. I think Hillary's real frustration is over the fact that Obama seems to have mastered what Bill could do and she never can-- weathering scathing attacks without looking like it even phases them.)
(P.P.P.S. Please note that no Republicans were involved in the appearance of the contents of post #83. Honest!) |

| sun-n-fun Tue 5/20/2008 11:41a | re post 69: Not that is matters in your argument, but Hillary is not governor of NY, she is a Senator.
I'd also probably fall over dead if NYS as a whole ever voted anything other than Democratic. It happened in my little village and it was news around the county for weeks. |

and how aliens from the planet Zurelon VII control his thoughts and actions. Whatever. Like we should choose our candidates based on what the 'seamier side of the net" says. LOL!
Oh, wait, I may be confusing that Zurelon VII thing with stories about Tom Cruise. My mistake. |
