I've been debating for a few days to even start this topic for fear you would all have me committed, but let me just jump on into this:

Are you aware of anyone who has ever counted the steps around Disneyland?

For example: I've been walking for exercise on my lunch break at work. I walk around a man-made "lake". Lately, I have begun a virtual walk through DL. I walk through the turnstiles, through the left tunnel, and make my way down Main Street, and left into Adventureland. Walk all the way down to Pooh, double back and around the Rivers of America, Past BTM, go the "back way" to Fantasyland, etc.

Kind of like walking the perimeter of DL.
In my mind. :)

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a reference to something like this, so I can have a better reference point. For example: 100 steps from Mickey's flower bed to the left/right tunnel. 500 steps to the Emporium.

I would try using a pedometer on your next trip STiL. It is a great exercise tool.

10,000 steps are the minimum you should hit. You could do the count seperately to the different locations in the park.

Yep, I do believe I'll do that for sure. I've been Googling off and on all day, but no luck. One guy has the steps from a few hotels to the park, but that's about all I've found.

Thanks, Knight.

My DW always wears her pedometer. But, being a husband, if she ever told me the number of steps around the park, I wasn't listening.

Hi SOTHISISLOVE,
I think this is what you were looking for. I found this in the Spring AP newsletter.

Mickey & Friends parking structure to Main entrance = 1500 steps

Disneyland Main entrance to Mickey's toontown = 860 steps

Splash Mountain to Space Mountain = 920 steps

California Adventure Main entrance to California Screamin = 750 steps

Have Fun!

1disneymom3boys! I love you! xoxo

ImTinkerbellsfan: if you saw my bod, you'd know I'm no exercise freak. :) I'm gonna have to work on my stamina so I can keep up with DH in July. He's been getting pretty hotsy totsy shape-wise lately! I look like his grandmother! LOL!

I know what you mean. I'm no excersise freak either. Between a full time job of teaching, going to school full time for a second masters and doing everything I do at home, I don't have the time.

I knew I read that somewhere, thanks 1disneylandmom3boys!!!!!!!

I've always wondered just how many steps we do when we stay there from the time it opens until the time it closes.

Might have to invest in a pedometer!!! I think there was something in that Spring AP Newsletter about going online and ordering a free pedometer, too!!
