A friend of mine is going to DL in June and on his last day, Wed. June 11, the park is closing at 9pm, instead of noon. He said it's because it's a Grad Night.

He was wondering if everyone has to leave the park at 9pm so all the grads can come in? Will the grads have to wait outside until all the other guests leave? Will the Main Street shops be open 1 hour later (10pm)?

Any information will be helpful!

Yes, everyone has to be out of the park at closing time, you can't hide out in the bathrooms and then play with grads. :) I have no idea if main street will be open later though. DCA closes at 7pm so that's off limits too. Downtown Disney may be open later. It's may be a good day to catch a late movie.

On Grad Nites Main Street does not remain open for an extra hour. Guests must leave the Park at closing time. Also, some schools have early entry into a reserved area for Grad Nite but grads and day Guests do not mix. Grads are only allowed to enter the Park for playing once all of the day Guests have left. Most grads remain on their buses until they are allowed to walk over and enter. Grad Nites are fun but they can be hectic for day Guests. Downtown Disney is definitely a great suggestion for the evening.

Thank you all for the information. I've forwarded it to my friend. Good thing it's happening on his last last day there.

What time do Grad Nites start nowadays? I graduated back in 2001 and ours went from 11:59p to 6a. They hold you on the bus until they say its ok for you to walk down...they try to stagger it so the esplanade doesnt fill up.

We had to walk from the Timon parking lot so we were pretty far from the regular day guests.

Still the same hours for DL. However, there is now a pre-party option at DCA.

We are in the SF Bay Area. My son's group leaves at noon, has dinner, the DCA party, then Grad Night.

Oh cool to know. They had the pre-party option when I was a grad. They termed it a "Blast Off Party", our school didn't participate however.

Florida does Grad Nites very differently, I'm guessing because the kids come from further away. I remember working them during my College Program and I was jealous for all the extra stuff they got that we didn't.

disnseylandfan8, just a suggestion for your friend. We often find ourselves at DLR during a Grad Nite. Other than the early closure I don't find the day any different than another day. The only suggestion I may add is if they are thinking of spending their last night in DTD for a late dinner after the park closes they would want to make a reservation. Often guests don't realize that the park is closing early, especially Main Street. Many people head right to World of Disney and the closer restaurants. Also, the restaurants in Disneyland stop serving earlier on early closing nights. I would guess at 7pm, We have found ourselves wandering around the Westside looking for something to eat or drink to no avail.

SuzieQ, how much did Travis have to pay and what did he get for the money? I'm curious because I do the trip for Freedom and we supply all food, water and energy drinks on the bus, 3 meals, games and prizes, and a FABULOUS commemorative parting gift--all for the low, low price of $180. Our trip is almost here (June 11th)

Their trip is $210. They get lunch, dinner, snacks, water, etc. on the bus. I don't know if they'll have games and such. They are doing the DCA pre-party and DL.

According to Friday's newsletter, they have SIX buses going! Deer Valley's big day/night is this Thursday.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
