>>>I have heard nothing but great things about this ride. I'm really excited to see and hear that DCA finally get a "knock it out of the park" hit - the first since Soarin' in my opinion (just based on what I have read).<<<

<<I find this a really sad statement as I think ToT at DCA is world class, Aladdin is worth the price of admission, and Monster's Inc is the best dark ride at DLR with the exception of the NOS offerings.>>

Gee, Dave, just realizing that there really are people nuts enough to think a parking lot was better than DCA? ;-)

DCA is worlds better than any non-Disney park with the possible exception of Universal Florida. It certainly is superior to The Park Formerly Known as The Disney-MGM Studios and while I enjoy the attraction's at DSP, it is a much better whole than that park too.

If not for the classics, I might put DCA above the MK, but I can't go that far.

But when I look at DCA and see Soarin, Aladdin, ToT, Animation, Monsters, Screamin, Tough To Be a Bug, GRR, even the Sun Wheel for its spectacular views, I just admit to being dumbfounded when people rip it so.

No, it's not Westcot (dumbest name ever for a theme park, btw) but I suspect many of the same DCA-haters would be bitching about that place if it had been built.

Sure, DCA was very flawed, but it also had the foundation of a wonderful park and it appears as if the place will keep improving through the next decade.

Midway Mania is just the next step and it sure appears to be a good one.

<<Pretty amazing. YOU making that comment demonstrates the definition of bias. Lets face it: DCA is the worst theme park built in the past 50 years.>>

Let's hope this is just crazy hyperbole because if this is your opinion, and you're certainly entitled to it, it automatically negates any and all credibility you might have or had.

I've never been to any LegoLand, although I know they are known for their quality.

But they aren't Disney.

And Knott's ... well, Knott's used to at least have a special California charm about it, but now it is simply another coaster park with some old western-theming left over. I know some of the locals who grew up with it can't get it out of their system. But it didn't overly impress me on my first visit back in 1990 (half the park was closed to be fair) and it hasn't on three subsequent visits, so I doubt I'll ever go back.

I guess I'll never know, William, because it's just not on my 'must see' list! ;-)

Oh and one comment on Fastpass ... and I swore long ago to not get into debates about it ... but while I use it (where/when available) and find it can be useful, overall I feel it's just added to the stress of a park visit and not taking it away.

It certainly leads to longer lines for attractions to justify its existence. I don't know how often I see 45 minute waits with FP and know it would be 15-20 if FP wasn't there.

I really don't want to get into a long debate about it because people are way too passionate about it. I just find the Disney park going experience was superior in the pre-FP days.

I will agree and say low capacity rides should not have FP and am glad Midway Mania does not have it.

Naradreamland RIPS DCA. One of the most attended theme parks in the world. I would much rather goto Nara Dreamland than DCA.

BTW, people can say Nara ripped off Disneyland. What many fail to see is that Walt himself ripped off at least 2 European theme parks from the early 50's.

Nara Dreamland rules! I went there when I went to Japan.

DCA is a joke, there we do agree.

Better than Disney Hollywood Studios? Surely you jest. DHS TOT rips DCA TOT. Little Mermaid live show RIPS Alladin. Lets set, DHS has full blow Fantasmic. Rockin Roller Coast rips Screamin. Star Tours/Soarin a wash. Great Movie Ride RIPS Soarin. Oh, I can go on. How can you possibly say DCA beats DHS?

<<GRR, even the Sun Wheel for its spectacular views, >>

Spectacular views? Of Harbor Ave? Of Electrical cables? Yes indeed! " Spectacular!"

<<Sure, DCA was very flawed>> Hey! We agree! Can you however make up your mind? You like DCA but its very flawed? Amazing!

<<I've never been to any LegoLand, although I know they are known for their quality.>>

Speak of BIAS! This person NEVER has been to Legoland yet gives it a backhhand! What FACTS can you state that shows, and I quote, " I know they are known for their quality."

Exactly. You dont have any.

Lets see. On one hand, she uses it. On the other hand, it's stressful. Is it possible for you to make up your mind please?

FP is a wonderful addition to the parks, which is why it's extremely popular and which is why it continues to be added to new Disney rides internationally. If it stresses you, do not use it! Thats one more extra available FP for me!

DCA's TOT is not "world class" in my opinion. Maybe if the original WDW version never existed and this DCA style was the first and only type to compare itself to. But one can not evaluate the overall experience of the DCA TOT without having the original experience of the WDW original firmly planted in the back of one's mind. The relatively minor plusses that came with the DCA version are way overpowered by the loss of certain major aspects that were omitted. And the overall placement and art direction of the DCA version is just way poor compared to the incredible job they did at WDW. For me, the DCA TOT is more of a huge disappointment than a huge plus. And unfortunately, some of the things that are disappointing about it can not ever be fixed. So we will always have the lesser version here. And that is sad.

That's why it is so important that anything new at DCA, like TSMM, be unique and exemplary, and if there has to be a clone or similar experience at any of the other Disney parks worldwide, then our versions here in Anaheim absolutely have to be equivalent or better. They failed us with TOT. But they did us proud with our Nemo submarine ride when compared to the lesser experience Sea Cabs at Epcot. That same expectation of nothing short of excellence NEEDS to be a hallmark of everything added to DCA. And DCA's TOT is very short of excellent. It's just fairly good. And that's not sufficient.
