Oh, brother...okay, two out of the loop.
Here's the music loop for The Sunshine Plaza.
http://www.disneymusicloops.com/
'California Dreamin' - The Mamas and the Papas 'California Here I Come' - Al Jolson 'California Sun' - The Rivieras 'Avalon' - Natalie Cole 'Little Old Lady from Pasadena' - Jan & Dean 'San Fernando Valley' - Bing Crosby 'Surf City' - Jan & Dean 'If You're Going to San Francisco' - Scott McKenzie 'Hooray for Hollywood' - orchestral 'Route 66' - Natalie Cole 'Do You Know the Way to San Jose?' - Dionne Warwick 'California Girls' - The Beach Boys 'I Love L.A.' - Randy Newman 'Hollywood Nights' - Bob Seger 'Surfin' USA' - The Beach Boys 'San Francisco Bay Blues' - Peter, Paul and Mary '25 Miles (Santa Catalina) - The Four Preps
With the exception of 'California Here I Come' 'San Fernando Valley' 'Hooray for Hollywood' and 'Avalon' -- they're all post-1950 pop songs.
And truly, I wouldn't have as big of a problem with these songs if they didn't have the vocals on them.
If it was just the music, it would be a 25% improvement.
With these 'California' pop songs blaring away, and The Beach Boys singing 'California Girls' for the 4000th time, it just seems like someone put together a themed CD at a corporate picnic.

The majority of park guests were not born when "California Dreamin'" was released. But I most adamantly agree that either a few thousand more songs, or else less obtrusive instrumental material, would be an improvement. |

Imagine it's 1958 and you're in Disneyland, and the music playing is mostly from the period 1900-1920. Would you complain that it's too "contemporary"? Or would you feel nostalgic for the "good old days" of your parents' and grandparents' time? |

Okay, then....What makes the songs special?
They're all about California. Okay...so what?
For a Disney theme park -- that's just not enough for me. |

To me, a lot of them evoke images of beach movies and sunny California afternoons in the 1960's. The whole "Frankie & Annette" thing. Admittedly, that doesn't really fit with much of the rest of the area's theming. Or does it? I'm never quite sure what the theme is supposed to be there. |

I tried getting in a week ago this afternoon, but arrived only minutes after the gates were closed.

What are "Daisy Duck's pages"? |

But I agree, some of these songs are very only now, just like ragtime when DL opened. |

They should add Moon Zappa's "Valley Girl" to the loop. |

The music is interrupted occasionally by a female voice paging various Disney characters. It hadn't occurred to me that the voice was Daisy's, but I suppose it could be.
The pages are all pretty silly, but I can't think of any of them off-hand. |
