Oh yes - he has been warned!
We had so much fun at this parade. There were so many touching moments meeting the veterans and having the honor to march beside them as the crowd saluted.
The most touching moment was near the end of the parade. The Marines were the chosen branch to be celebrated, so members were seated in a special section near the end of the parade. I was holding the American Legion flag, my cousin's husband was holding the POW / MIA flag, and my aunt was holding the American flag. We all three had to stay in a side-by-side line, always making sure that the American flag stayed a little taller than the AL flag. Long story short, as we walked past the uniformed military guests, they all stood and saluted the flag in unison. You have never seen anything so beautiful as that, I assure you. What tears that brought! It's a little hard to explain, but being an American was never so important as in that moment. |

Well this is it I have now told him. Mikey was looking over my shoulder when I bought this thread up and I said to him 'whos that Mike?' 'OOoh its Britany but whos that' 'Thats her new Boyfriend' ' Oh well thats good because H...is my girlfriend at school and Britany might be lonly without me.'
