I am just curious if any of you have fabulous tips and tricks to get great seats at Fantasmic other than the reserved seating (I am going to probably suprise my DD during our Thanksgiving trip with that)...
I love Fantasmic but I am selfish with my Disney time so (a.) I don't really want to sit on hard cement for an extended time and (b). I still want a fabulous seat :)

No guarantees but I'm usually able to walk up to a roped off section and find a spot with an unobstructed view about 30 minutes prior to the show. It's usually right behind a reserved seating area (in between French Market and Cafe Orleans) but since the guests are seated I get a great view. Good luck and have fun!

I can't give away that secret. Well OK, here it goes.

I always go to the second showing of Fantasmic. When the end of the first showing is near I go to the Riverbell Terrace for a late dinner (which may change since I heard they changed the menu) and stalk around until the show is finished. When it is, they clear everyone out, then I grab the closest table I can and their I sit to the next show. I know that requires sitting for a while, but I normally wait to have dinner then so it is not so bad. Tanya

I might try that next time...I think we tried a variation of that before the first show and I went way too early and my DD wouldn't sit still and we wound up leaving.

We also wait for the second show. One of us hangs around until the first show starts dispersing. Then as soon as I can, I head toward the fence of ROA and make my way up front. I bring a dollar store plastic pinic table cover with me and spread it out where I want to be. Last time we were right up to the rail. Thought the fence would bug be during the show but it just disappeared from my sight when the show started. We use our cell phones to locate whoever saved the spot and someone gets snacks/ drinks, and we are set. Much less wait time, and the table cover creates a "don't crowd me boundary". Toss the cover when it is over.

First showing...stand behind the center lighting pole. It will raise 10 minutes before the show starts. Works every time.

Where is the center lighting pole?

It's easy to spot. There are three big light poles. The two on the side are up in the air already, but the third one is on the ground. It is big and nobody is going to be standing behind it generally because they don't realize that it will be raised right before the show starts.

We did that trick last time we went to F! in December. The kids were right on the fence and we were about 15 feet away from the control board.
