| aurorasdream Tue 5/20/2008 5:03p | I am sooo excited about my family's upcoming trip to DL in June! Woo hoo! I have a couple of planning questions to ask. First, if I buy our park hopper tickets ahead of time and for some reason we have to cancel the trip, are they refundable? I'm thinking of buying them ahead of time through AAA.
My other question is how is the cell phone reception in DL/DCA? My party and I are hoping to keep in contact through our cells phones if we get separated and was wondering how reliable this plan was.
Thank you! |

But you don't have to buy them ahead of time - usually AAA and Disneyland.com prices are the same - you can walk into AAA and pick up your tix so you don't have to preorder (unless you are doing a travel package) or you can print them at home off of the disneyland site. |

#2, cell service is spotty. Sometimes I get my calls, sometimes not. Sometimes, I get the message indication right after the person hangs up, yet the phone never rang! However, we, too, rely on cell phones for getting together at the parks. Just remember to check it frequently if you expect to hear from someone and haven't.

| Mrs ElderP Tue 5/20/2008 6:28p | My problem with cell phones is that I can't hear it in the noise of Disneyland. If it's not next to my skin, to feel the vibration, I'm never going to answer your call. :) So, cell phones are workable, but not 100% reliable.
Yeah, if there is a chance something is going to happen to your vacation, don't buy your tickets till you are 99.9% sure. Once you spend the money on tickets, well, that money is sunk in tickets. You *can* use them any time in the future. If the ticket prices go up between now and when you can use them, as Lulu indicated, you'll just have to pay the difference. |

AAA is a great place to get tickets at the last minute. If you are getting a 5 day pass they might have to order in advance as they only had 2 and 3 day hoppers at the office. At least that is how it was at my AAA. We went to the office and paid for them a week before we had to leave. It only took a couple of days til they had our passes. |

I have the same problem as well. But, it's not a terribly bad situation if the caller leaves voice mail or a sends a text message. |

I too keep my phone in my pocket on vibrate. If I know someone may phone me I check after getting off a "ride" as sometimes you won't even feel it. We never have our phones on "ring" in an attraction or have a conversation, don't want to kill the mood :)
I'm terrible at it, but we find that texting works best. Last trip we'd just text when and where we'd be and then our "kids" could text back "meet ya" or "later" etc.
Another tip is to pack your phone charger NOW or put it on a check list :) We forgot one time and the kiosk in DTD was out of LG chargers :( |

I can't remember if it is 30 days in advance??? |
