Oh and the last time we were there, the CM who checked us in just automatically upgraded us to a beautiful riverside view room even though we only paid for a standard view, so I have no complaints about the service.

I've stayed at POFQ multiple times and just LOVE it! My favorite mod by far! It's small, has the boat to DTD and is just beautiful. DOn't worry about staying there at all! :)

For me, the ranking of mods is:
POFQ
CSR
CBR

and wayyyyyyyyyyyy at the bottom is POR.

I think you'll be very happy at the French Quarter. It's lovely, laid back, usually quiet and the pool area is wonderful. We had debated on trying another Disney property for our upcoming Oct trip but decided we loved it so much at the FQ that we didn't need to change.
Our rooms were very clean and nice.
The suggestion of taking a over the door pocket type shoe storage bag is an excellent one as there is only a small ledge above the two pedistal sinks and there is not much room if you have lots of stuff.
Make sure and try and fit in a carriage ride if you have time and can still get a reservation.
Have a great stay!!

I love the idea of the over the door pocket style shoe holder to hold incidentals to keep the bathroom sink area clean :) Going this March and will do this :) Thank you -

POFQ is our fave moderate & second only to WL for overall fave.

We love the size, theme, boat to DtD & that it is 1st pick-up & drop-off for bus service.

It does have pedestal sinks but there is a shelf that extends across both mirrors just above the sinks. There is ample space to put essentials but really like the hanging shoe bag idea.

The grounds are lovely & the resort is intimate great for getting back to your room after a long day @ the parks. The boat to DtD is a delight.

We really like POR as well & have great experiences there but FQ is 1st in our hearts.

Have a great time. BTW we always tip Mousekeeping on a daily basis as opposed to a lump sum on check-out. We do this wherever we go. We are almost never disappointed with the service this way. Of course you should be able to expect good service regardless but I live in the real world & coming back to clean well appointed room adds to our vacation enjoyment.

our recent trip was in the POFQ and with the exception of my towel animal i loved the hotel. very intimate grounds, not noisy at all, and never a long walk to either the buses or our rental car

everything was clean, mousekeeping was decent, service at the front desk and food court were excellent and the service at the gift shop when picking up delivered packages was exceptional.

Yeah, the towel animals are kind of hit or miss there. There's usually one in your room when you arrive, but no news ones during your stay. At least this has been our experience the past three yers we have stayed there (2007-2009)
I'l like to add the CM's in the gift shop went out of their way to accomdate us in finding boxes so we could ship some things home that we couldn't get into our suitcases.
