IMO - the only thing that was lacking in the New Fantasyland was the Tuna Boat (and maybe the Welch's Grape Juice). This was a VAST improvement over the original FL (which was somewhat amazing considering that the company was spending over $1 BILLION Dollars at the same time developing EPCOT - so the Disney Company was both Willing and Able to spend vast amounts of money to improved the guest experience. I still love the "New Fantasyland" and am happy to say that it has aged well. I only hope that we will soon be able to walk-through the Sleeping Beauty Castle again soon.

How interesting to have this topic up at the same time as the reminiscing on Tomorrowland 1998. The contrast couldn't be plainer!

Fantasyland 1983 was one of the best, most successful rebuilds every. Some things may have been lost, but so very, very, very much was gained. So much, in fact, as to dwarf what was lost. No one, I believe, has looked at Fantasyland in the last 25 years and thought, "Was that rebuild really a good idea?"

Happy Birthday, Fantasyland.

Unlike the "New Tomorrowland" of 10 years ago, the new Fantasyland was a great improvement! It really made it into a magical place.
