Ok another question. Are the dining plans worth it?

In one word yes.

If you don't like to do lots of planning your table service then maybe it's not for you.

If you like a lot of table service and doing all the planning in advance it is well worth it.

I'd say no for my family, but then again we never have tried it. It seems like too much food for my family. And I hate having to be too many places at specific times when I am on vacation. There have been times when we have had reservations and no one has been hungry.

Yes and no. I think if you have young children, no it is not. If you are adults only (or teens) and like a table service a day, it can be. Sadly they have cut back on it compared to what it used to be, so now I do not bother with dining plans.

In our family sit down dinners in the parks are a special treat and they are a big part of a "special" vacation. For us the Dining Plan was fabulous. We were also able to go in September when it was free, as long as you were staying in a WDW hotel. (That special is back on for this year.) So, I never had to debate if the cost was worth it.

I can also see how, if like sun-n-fun, you consider sit down dinners more trouble than they're worth how the plan wouldn't be a good idea.

Fantastic then Mrs ElderP.

We do make sure to have PS for one table service a day, but what we find is the kids have an appetite one meal, but not the next. Or one day we want three courses, another just on, or another we want to share an appetiser and dessert with our own entrees.

We found that the dining plan was not as gooda deal when paying for it.

No doubt! :) How much you pay certainly influances how big a value you think it is.

I would like to try it if we can ever go when it is free. :)

The dining plan makes our vacation too structured. We like to be able to travel WDW as we please without being held to dining times. We always book a few "special" sit down meals and just improvise on the rest.
