I'm pretty bad for hijacking this topic, aren't I??? :D

>>The Mary Poppins attraction idea came from OC_Dean<<

May the rumor spread!!!! ;-)

I hereby commence the "oc_dean rumor of a Mary Poppins attraction for Paradise Pier"!!

LOL

As I said ....
the way this company works ...
things in a constant change and flux ..
the 999 ideas for that attraction pad.

Somebody tell me at least 10 of those 999 that are as good as Mary Poppins.

And I keep thinking of a "Jolly Holiday" entrance/facade that would fit very well into the "victorian"sh theming of Paradise Pier ... starting with Midway Mania's exterior theming ... as the hint of things to come for the rest of Paradise Pier.

Press Release for August 27, 2014:

Please join legendary actress Julie Andrews, and a small cast of others from the 1964 film, as she helps to open the first ever Mary Poppins attraction .. Opening in the formally named "California Adventure". It will be a monumental event ... As the attraction will be opening on the 50th Golden Anniversary of Walt Disney's classic film.

The Walt Disney Co. PROUDLY celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1964 film with a definitive Blu-Ray 50th anniversary edition .... with a "Jolly Holiday" celebration of the new ride opening at the Disneyland Resort!!!

Put it in a crystal palace fascade like in the background of this picture.

and they could loop the carousel horse ride vehicles in a semi-circle around inside the front after you load, but before it enter the show building to make it look sort of like a real carousel.

>> well once the temporary preview center opens in DCA very soon more pictures will be available <<

Ya know, I was wondering about that as I was over there on Tuesday. Prior to my visit, I think it was my Backstage Pass magazine that said there is supposed to be an area at DCA to preview the new stuff coming, like Walt's California? Well, I headed over to the Disney Animation (Sorcerer's Workshop?) cause I had a feeling it might be in there, forget why. Anyways, I spoke with a Cast Member in there and she told me it's either not available yet or it should be where the Winery building is and that it's currently being used for the preview area for the upcoming attractions. She said she wasn't entirely sure, but that was her understanding that if anywhere that is where it should be. I went over there, but to no avail. The Winery wasn't being used for anything else, at least from what it looked like. There were CMs there outside, but it looked too obvious to even ask, that there wasn't anything extra going on inside. I could have inquired more, believe me I was very much interested, but I figured I can find out another time because I wanted to meet back up with my Dad in Disneyland.

As for Cars, wow. The CM who I asked about the preview center, was filling me in on almost the whole blue print of stuff to come. See now, this is always what I tell my Dad when he asks, I say I'm sure if it's new to me, it's definately no longer new to the folks on Laughing Place because they're always up on that stuff, the latest updates on the parks that is. They have writers, columnists and photographers (i.e. LP Live) covering this stuff all the time.

But anyways, so as this may be already known to most of you, this was my first time finding out: Cars will be getting it's own land (might have read that in my Spring edition of Backstage Pass). There will be an attraction there much similar to the Test Track ride at Epcot (Radiator Springs Racers is the name for this one I believe?). Another attraction will be kinda nostalgic to the Flying Saucers ride from decades ago, but they'll be tires instead?

I do recall her saying something about using one of the character parking areas in order to build the new attractions, but I kept thinking INSIDE the parking structure like part of it, and that became really a head scratcher until I came on here and read "Timon Lot". I was thinking a character and parking and put the two together and immediately thought of the parking structure where most of the character themed parking is now, and forgot there is still a character lot outside of it, but I can't remember where on the property it's at. And I swear I just saw it recently over there.

I know this is off topic a bit, but I did find out about the Little Mermaid ride as my Niece is highly interested to know more ever since learning about it on her Little Mermaid dvd. The same CM I spoke with told me they are planning to start construction on it in September and it should be open by next year.

Ok I'm going to take a wild guess as it probably is clearly obvious. The Timon Lot is right outside the parking structure isn't it?
