Ok, we are thinking of taking a cruise sometime next year, so thought I would get a jump on getting new passports, but I need some help as to what we might need...
My Dh and I got passports in Feb 1992, so more then 15 years, therefore we need to apply for new passports. My DH was born to US citizens in Canada. When we first applied we did the parents birth certificates, marriage license, statement of residency. Will he have to provide the same documents or will his old non damaged passport/large birth certificate (I can't believe his original doesn't even list his parents!) cover that? Managed to find their marriage license, but both birth certificates are missing, both are now deceased, so we can't ask to borrow one from them.
Then onto me, it says a marriage license is needed for a name change, but my old passport has my current name, so would I still need to bring that as well? Sadly it too is missing (we had several moves since 1992.
At least the kids should be easy since we just need us, them, and their birth certificates.

You don't HAVE to have your old passport but without it you have to prove citizenship which means having all your paperwork in order.
