"I can think of someone who has bee saying them at a greater rate - Senator Obama."

We need machine making places in all 57 states.

Douglas, you can't possibly be claiming that Bush is more erudite and articulate than Barak Obama. Seriously?

<Douglas, you can't possibly be claiming that Bush is more erudite and articulate than Barak Obama. Seriously?>

I think President Bush is less articulate, but more erudite.

***I can think of someone who has bee saying them at a greater rate - Senator Obama.***

Are you seriously comparing Obama and his occasional slips of the tongue (saying 57 states instead of 47 for example) to the idiotic statements Bush is famous for?

Are you really?

*sigh*

"Erudition is the depth, polish and breadth that is applied to education from further readings and understanding of literary works. The Latin word educare means to "lead out" from ignorance; hence an educated person has come to think critically and logically. An erudite person has both deep and broad familiarity with a certain subject, often gained through study and extensive reading of the subject's literature rather than formal scholarship."

Yup, describes Bush to a T.

<--rolls eyes.

<Are you really?>

Yes. Besides the frequent gaffes, Obama says really stupid things. For instance, he just said, "Change is realizing that meeting today's threats requires not just our firepower, but the power of our diplomacy - tough, direct diplomacy where the president of the United States isn't afraid to let any petty dictator know where America stands and what we stand for."

Does he really think that President Bush's foreign policy problems have been due to a fear of letting petty dictators know where we stand or what we stand for?

And once we let them know that, then what?

Douglas relax I'd be the first to jump over people for yet another for them to bash Bush but sometimes funny is just funny. If you read any of the comments there's no malice.

I agree with DAR on this one. It really is just a gaffe. Bush, since he knows he's lame duck, has really relaxed in public appearances. He seems to be less scripted and more himself. Anyone who goes off script will eventually say "machine making places" or something similar, ususally more embarrassing than that.
i like the pics of W. at the Graduation at the Air Forse Academy. He was mugging with a grad from Texas. It was great. And truly some of the most genuine photos of his entire tenure.
