Cirque du Soleil, the Canadian-based circus and entertainment troupe, on Tuesday unveiled part of a tarot-inspired permanent show at Tokyo Disney Resort as it tries to expand in Asia.
Cirque, which has found global success with its blend of traditional circus, theatre, music and special effects, is to open the custom-made show, Zed, to the public on October 1 at the Disney resort's Theatre Tokyo.

While it has a October 1 opening date, I think thanks to corparate events it will be many months before the average visitor will be able to get hold of tickets. But we'll have to wait and see on that!
Anyone have plans to see this show? |

I agree that it probably won't have much of an impact on the parks but I bet if Ambassador hotel has special seating for guests staying there it could have an effect don't you think? |

Welcome to LP, TokyoSweets. I live near the resort myself...do you live in downtown Tokyo? |

| X-san Wed 6/4/2008 5:29a | Oh, very cool. I used to live around Shinurayasu but now I live closer to the Tozai line downtown.
Maybe we'll run into each other at Shopper's Plaza sometime. :)
Dave, I don't see why it won't still be around, it's a gigantic permanent show building just like Orlando. (I suppose anything is possible, it could be a big flop and close quickly I guess)

I was really gutted as I love the show and do think DLP needs more night time entertainment that does not revolve around shopping, eating and drinking. Thank god we still have Buffalo Bill's. |

Well, the Cirque show in Tokyo seems pretty darned permanent anyway.
There is really NOTHING to do at TDR at night and never really has been...however with the CITY right at Maihamas doorstep I really don't see why anyone would want to hang around anyway. Nightlife abounds in every way shape and form. |
