Hi all,

As a DLR regular, I know that you cannot pre-purchase your park tickets too early, as they have a date that they must first be used by (usually in early January).

Is this true for WDW tickets? If we were to purchase our discounted park hopper tickets now from one of those fine LP sponsors, would they still be valid for our mid-January 2009 trip? I figure the prices will go up between now and then and might as well pre-pay as much as we can now so the trip is easier to pay for.

Thanks for your help.

I know you can pay for a "no expiration option" Certainly if you got that they wouldn't expire, but you have to pay for it. Also, on DL tickets, while they may expire, all you have to do is pay the difference. The money you have put towards your tickets doesn't disapear forever.

WDW tickets do expire 14 days after going through the first park(tunstile). So you could buy your tickets now and still use them next year..... as long as they have not been through a park. Also if someone else has used some of the days on a non-expiration and then you use it, it will not work.

We have had tickets up to 6 months and used them. Like DM443 says they do expire 14 days after their first use.

Yep, knew that they would expire after we first used them (unless we bought the more expensive non-expiring variety) ... meant to make note of that in my original post, but forgot.

It sounds like WDW may not follow the same restrictions that DLR does, as far as buying tickets months in advance. I don't want to go through the hassle of planning ahead to get tickets, then end up at a ticket booth to pay the difference when I get there. That would defeat the whole purpose. :-)

Thanks for the help, LPers.
