Okay, so I'm still confused: the Indiana Jones ride took out a chunk of the Eeyore lot or was built over it or something. My question is...how?

The ride doesn't stick that far out into the parking lot, and it can't be built underneath the old lot either. I also remember the Eeyore lot being a bit further out since the areas were all in alphabetical order...lol, I miss the old lot.

It's out farther than you might think. It did take out some of the Eeyore section which was all the way against the berm and was used primarily for RV and large truck parking. If you look at some old aerial maps and some new ones you can see where it took over part of the lot. I was working in Guest Relations while this attraction was being built so we saw quite a bit of the construction first hand behind City Hall. Let me see if I can find some online...anyone know where to find old aerial maps?

5BR, when Indy was built, Disney had to bump out the Monorail track and the topography isn't quite the same as it used to be. I have a couple of nice aerial pics that show the before and after. I'd be happy to send them to you. Just email me, the addy is in my profile.

From my understanding, the old lot went pretty much right to the backedge of the Jungle Cruise. There was room for a service road and stuff between there, but not a lot of space. The new building took up some of the space in the old parking lot, but with the monorail beam getting moved out, there was an expansion of the backstage area there. I remember that there was some of the Eyeore lot left over when they had built it, so it didn't take up the whole thing.

I rode Indy a few weeks ago and was going to show my brother the old Eyeore parking sign in the projection room of the queue, but I couldn't find it. Did they take the sign out?
