Coldplay's new album, Viva La Vida has just been released in the UK and is set to be released in the States next week. So I've decided to start a new topic to discuss the new album. I purchased it yesterday and have to say it sounds good. I'm not sure if its my favourite Coldplay album but this one is obviously meant to have a differnt sound to it compare to the bands previous offerings. At the moment I'm listening to it over and over to get used to all the tracks but I am enjoying it very much. Tracks 42 and Death and all his freinds are two that have instantly grown on me.

Anyone else got the album or have intentions on buying it?

Yup. The album leaked last week on the internet. I really like it, it's definitely one of those albums you have to listen to a few times and it starts to grow more and more. I like 42, Lost, Viva La Vida at the outset, and a few others I don't remember the names at the moment. I think it's better than X&Y. I get to see them twice on the tour, yay!

I am not a Coldplay fan (as MissCandice can attest) but I like the song I heard from the album the other day.

After listening to it over and over again plus listening to the live concert that aired tonight on Radio 1 in the UK, I have to say I really love this album. I may not go as far as to say its the bands best work. It makes great back ground music for either if your on the net, in the car or just listening on the ipod.

Sales have also been rather impressive in the UK so far with it shifting 302,074 in just three days making it go platinum. It also went straight into the top position in the album chart.

I'm older than dirt and couldn't give you the title of a Coldplay song to save my life, however: a local radio station I normally don't listen to is giving away Disney vacations. So, here I am, listening to songs I ordinarily wouldn't hear.

I'm REALLY liking the title track: Viva La Vida. So here's an old dog learning new music tricks.

Viva La Vida is definitely the most instantly catchy, I'm enjoying the album.

Not a ColdPlay listener either here...but I liked Viva La Vida when I saw them perform it on the MTV Movie awards a few weeks ago..

So hubby was shocked tonight when he went to find it on Itunes and I already had it downloaded :o)

I can be cool sometimes

Am 53 and a huge fan of 60's - early 70's music , but try and stay current aqlso- but realistically don't let a lot of bands from the last 20 years into my ipod rotation. ( Living in the past I know) -
I would not call myself a Coldplay fan, but I think Clocks is one of the best songs ever -- I just wish the rest of their stuff excited me as much.
