Now a feature about opening day and the accompanying live broadcast - that might be fun. |

| Waltfanantic Sun 6/15/2008 12:12p | Boring? I think a movie showing all the stuff Walt went through to see his dream come true would be very inspiring and fasinating. Walt Disney pictures has made some of the best, inspiring true life stories, Miracle, The Rookie, The Greatest Game Ever Played. A movie telling of Walt's journey to Disneyland would be something I'd go see. |

| brotherdave Sun 6/15/2008 8:36p | Or is it possible that instead of an 'attraction' being the inspiration for a movie (Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Country Bears), perhaps they're going for the whole 'shebang' this time with a movie based on a 'mythical' land known as "Disneyland"???
(I wouldn't put it past them!) |

| JeffG Mon 6/16/2008 3:19a | While I think there could be a potentially compelling film made on this topic, I can't imagine it would be a particularly viable project. Disney couldn't really do it without such a film appearing to be blatantly promotional. At the very least, I think it would be almost impossible to attract any A-list talent to such a project since Disney would necessarily mandate a sanitized and essentially fawning take on the subject.
I don't see any other production companies or distributors taking on such a film either, though, as the trademark and copyright issues would be pretty much insurmountable.

I agree that such a film would only appeal to a small segment of the population. The fact that it's the coolest segment is beside the point.

My grandparents took my parents to Disneyland, my parents took me to Disneyland, I take my kids to Disneyland. I'd say there's at least four generations of Disney/Disneyland fans. |
